Be in charge of data for a growing software-as-a-service company! As our first dedicated data-centric employee, you would be setting the stage for how we collect, store, synchronize, analyze, and build reporting on various forms of data company-wide.ResponsibilitiesOver time, we expect that your responsibilities would include:- Define a modern, practical data architecture and warehousing strategy for our various data needs.- Define, create, and maintain data pipelines to synchronize data between various systems used in our company.- Build dashboards to allow various stakeholders to monitor key metrics- Create ad-hoc analyses on to answer business questions or discover new insights- Clearly document nuances of the data architecture- Communicate directly with various stakeholders across the organization to address data concerns and improve reportingRequirements- 2+ years of experience with managing and troubleshooting data architecture and pipelines- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience- A careful, detail-oriented approach that keeps data organized, well-communicated, and correct- Strong working experience with SQL and spreadsheets- Some programming experience in C#, Java, or other strongly-typed programming languages- Experience creating reusable reports (e.g. in PowerBI)- Excellent communication skills in gathering requirements and precisely and concisely explaining data nuances- The drive and self-confidence to evolve your own role over timeNice to have (but not necessary):- Data science skills, like machine learning and predictive analytics.- Experience managing subscription data.- Experience dealing with massive data sets (ours are mostly smallish, hundreds of thousands of rows)Now what?
