About Blue J
Blue J is the leading generative AI solution for tax professionals. As a B2B SaaS company, our customers are accountants and tax experts who rely on our market-leading software to deliver fast, accurate, and defensible answers to complex tax questions.
With the launch of our flagship generative AI product, we’ve consistently exceeded our revenue targets quarter over quarter and continue to accelerate our growth. Our product roadmap is ambitious, customer-focused, and designed to deliver exceptional value at speed.
On the heels of our $122M USD Series D funding, we’re racing ahead with an exciting product roadmap and are looking for an Events Manager to support our growth. Reporting directly to our Director Events, this role will focus heavily on the end‑to‑end execution of a fast‑growing, high‑impact events program.
A Note on Location
We’re excited to connect with qualified candidates and sincerely appreciate everyone’s interest in joining Blue J. This is a hybrid role, and candidates must be within driving distance of Toronto, with the expectation of attending in-person meetings 1-2 times per quarter. The role also requires up to 30% travel to the United States for conferences and events. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
The Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to own and deliver a large‑scale, diverse events program at a high‑growth B2B SaaS company. Events are one of Blue J’s most important marketing channels, and this role plays a critical part in driving brand awareness, pipeline growth, and customer engagement.
You’ll join at a moment of significant scale: our events program is expected to double year over year, spanning large industry conferences, partner events, roundtables, webinars, and hybrid experiences. You’ll work closely with marketing, partnerships, sales, and leadership to bring complex programs to life often simultaneously while maintaining a calm, organized, and solutions‑oriented approach.
What You’ll be Doing
- Own the end-to-end execution of events, from planning through on-site delivery and post-event follow-up
- Manage a high volume of simultaneous events, often overlapping during peak seasons, with strong prioritization and attention to detail
- Build and maintain project plans, timelines, run-of-show documents, and stakeholder checklists to keep execution on track
- Lead event logistics across in-person, virtual, and hybrid formats, including conferences, webinars, partner events, and roundtables
- Manage event budgets and forecasts, ensuring spend is tracked accurately and aligned with goals
- Coordinate with vendors, venues, and partners, including quotes, contracts, sponsorship deliverables, and on-site support
- Partner cross-functionally with marketing, partnerships, sales, and leadership to ensure alignment and a seamless event experience
- Support executive participation at events by managing schedules, briefing materials, and onsite logistics as needed
- Manage event tech and workflows (registration platforms, webinar tools, CRM integrations, documentation) and troubleshoot issues when required
- Track and report on post-event results, ensuring learnings, follow-ups, and key data are documented and shared
What You Offer Blue J
- 5-10 years of experience managing events in a fast-paced, professional environment
- Proven ability to deliver multiple complex events simultaneously, owning execution end-to-end
- Experience working in B2B SaaS or a similar industry (e.g., professional services, fintech, accounting)
- Strong execution background across in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, with confidence leading virtual/hybrid workflows
- Excellent project management and operational rigor highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven
- Comfortable using modern tools like Asana/Monday.com, Slack, and shared documentation to keep stakeholders aligned
- Advanced spreadsheet skills to manage budgets, timelines, and event logistics
- Familiarity with event technology, including registration platforms, webinar tools, and CRM integrations
- Ability to stay calm and effective under pressure, especially in high-volume, high-velocity event seasons
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn complex details into clear, actionable guidance
- Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills across vendors, partners, executives, and attendees
