About Blue J
Blue J is the leading generative AI solution for tax professionals. As a B2B SaaS company, our customers are accountants and tax experts who rely on our market-leading software to deliver fast, accurate, and defensible answers to complex tax questions.
With the launch of our flagship generative AI product, we’ve consistently exceeded our revenue targets quarter over quarter and continue to accelerate our growth. Our product roadmap is ambitious, customer-focused, and designed to deliver exceptional value at speed.
On the heels of our $122M USD Series D funding, we’re racing ahead with an exciting product roadmap and are looking for a Copy Editor/Writer to help elevate how we communicate. This role will play a critical part in shaping clear, compelling, and conversion-driven messaging across channels.
A Note on Location
We’re excited to connect with qualified candidates and sincerely appreciate everyone’s interest in joining Blue J. This is a hybrid role, and candidates must be within driving distance of Toronto, with the expectation of attending in-person meetings 1-2 times per quarter. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
The Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to own and refine written content across a fast-growing B2B SaaS organization operating in a complex, highly technical industry.
At Blue J, clarity matters. Our customers are tax professionals working in high-stakes environments, and our messaging must reflect the same precision and thoughtfulness we bring to our product.
You’ll work cross-functionally with marketing, partnerships, and the rest of the GTM to create and refine content that drives engagement, builds trust, and supports revenue growth. From landing pages to event presentations, from ad campaigns to long-form content, your work will directly influence how Blue J shows up in the market.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong editorial judgment with business acumen, and understands that great writing is not just polished, but purposeful.
What You’ll be Doing
- Create and edit landing page copy for events, partnerships, and paid campaigns with a focus on clarity and conversion
- Modify and tailor event and webinar presentations, adapting core messaging for partners, geographies, and specific audiences
- Develop and refine ad copy across paid channels as we expand our digital acquisition efforts
- Write and edit social media copy to support partnerships, event promotion, product updates, brand storytelling, and content distribution
- Create and optimize email marketing copy for event campaigns, partnership initiatives, and broader marketing programs
- Support the development of long-form content including blogs, case studies, and thought leadership pieces
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex tax and AI topics into accessible, credible messaging
- Edit long- and short-form video content (script writing is a nice to have)
- Contribute to ongoing GEO/AEO/SEO content optimization initiatives as the program scales (nice to have)
What You Offer Blue J
- 3-6 years of experience in a writing or editorial role within an agency, startup, or high-growth environment
- A university background in a writing-intensive discipline (e.g., journalism, communications, English, law, or similar) that has strengthened your editorial judgment and discernment
- Experience writing for B2B SaaS organizations, with an understanding of how content supports pipeline and revenue
- Strong research skills and the ability to quickly get up to speed on technical, complex subject matter
- Comfort working in a detail-oriented, high-standards environment where precision matters
- A working knowledge of GEO/AEO/SEO principles, even if you have not formally owned a program
- Thoughtful and responsible use of AI tools to enhance productivity without sacrificing clarity or quality
- Experience in or exposure to industries adjacent to Blue J (tax, accounting, fintech, legal, or professional services) is an asset, but not required
- Familiarity with video editing tools is a plus
What We Offer You
- A rare opportunity to shape messaging at a category-defining AI company
- A mission-driven culture where your work directly advances clarity, efficiency, and accessibility in tax research
- Competitive base salary, stock options, and benefits designed to support you and your family
- Flexibility in how you work: primarily remote, with occasional travel to our Toronto office as needed
- A collaborative, ambitious, and supportive team that values innovation, respect, and fun
- We care about you as a whole person. You’ll have a healthy work/life balance and colleagues who respect it. We’ve mindfully put together a great benefits package that covers you and your family
The Core Values that Define Our Culture
- We are customer-focused
- We put the team interest before self-interest
- We are pleasant and playful
- We are open to better ideas
- We deliver on our promises
- We solve the toughest problems

How We Use AI in Our Hiring Process
To ensure transparency, we want candidates to know that Blue J uses AI-enabled tools within our applicant tracking system to help organize applications and highlight profiles that match the key requirements for each role.
AI does not make hiring decisions.

Final compensation will be set fairly and thoughtfully based on experience, expertise, and alignment with the role’s responsibilities.
