About the RoleWe seek a diligent, highly organized Accounting & Business Administrator to support financial operations and corporate administration. The role is approximately 50% accounting and 50% entity administration and coordination with business partners and government bodies. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate accounting records, supporting reporting and reconciliations, and coordinating statutory, corporate and regulatory matters. Position Details- Job Title: Accounting & Business Administrator- Department: Finance & Accounting- Reports To: Director of Finance- Employment Type: Full-Time- Location: UK / Hybrid Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Operations- Maintain complete accounting records in QuickBooks for global entities per applicable policies.- Perform monthly invoicing; update customer data per agreements; present weekly revenue reports to senior management.- Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations; investigate and resolve variances.- Support monthly/quarterly/annual close; maintain GL, schedules, and intercompany balances.- Support AP and payment processes; maintain documentation for transactions and reconciliations.- Support manager during audits, statutory accounts and reviews; improve processes, controls and use of accounting systems (including AI). Entity Administration- Primary contact for government entities and banking partners under direction of Director of Finance.- Maintain calendar of statutory/corporate/regulatory deadlines; track to completion.- Coordinate responses to regulators; liaise with external accountants, auditors, legal advisers, company secretarial providers.- Prepare/collate/submit required documentation; maintain accurate corporate records, statutory registers, entity information and supporting documentation.- Coordinate annual statutory accounts, corporate filings and other submissions; maintain records of regulatory correspondence, licences and registrations.- Monitor outstanding matters and follow up to ensure timely completion; assist with regulatory enquiries; escalate significant matters as needed. Controls, Governance & Process Improvement- Maintain trackers for close, submissions, obligations and audit requests; ensure confidential handling of sensitive information. Collaboration- Work closely with Finance leadership and team; coordinate with Operations, Compliance, Legal and other teams; liaise professionally with external parties; provide timely and accurate responses to requests. Requirements & Skills- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration or related discipline.- ~3–5 years in accounting/entity or corporate administration (or combination).- Strong understanding of accounting principles; practical experience with reconciliations and month-end accounting.- Required: experience with a UK entity and familiarity with UK statutory and corporate filing requirements.- Preferred: coordination with external accountants, auditors, legal advisers or regulators.- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office; experience with MS Dynamics BC, QuickBooks or similar ERP/accounting systems.- Strong organizational and document-management skills; ability to manage multiple deadlines.- Excellent written and verbal communication; strong attention to detail; disciplined approach to records/processes.- Ability to identify issues, investigate discrepancies and drive resolution; work independently and know when to escalate.- Experience in financial services, payments or fintech is an asset; proactive, accountable and commercial minded.
