We are looking for a talented, self-motivated team member who is passionate about sustainability, technology, and the built environment to join our small team of committed developers working on our web and mobile maintenance tracking platform. We won’t go into a boring job description as you know the drill – you write code that is clean and well documented (and tested) and then check it in! And then deploy it when the time comes, if you own the project. You also get a fair amount of input into how things are designed and built. We like to keep trying new things, so we hope you do too.
We offer the opportunity to make an immediate impact, give input into architecture/designs, and work closely with our Customer Success team. We also offer sane work hours, extended health/dental/vision benefits and the opportunity to work remotely in Canada and/or in our Vancouver office (when restrictions are lifted, if you live in the Greater Vancouver area). Salary will be based upon experience.
What should you know?
REST APIs and the ins and outs of HTTP requests (status codes and the like)
AWS fundamentals for serverless web apps
Test automation eg Jest
Cross-platform app development
Familiarity with Swagger/Open API
Experience with SSO, SAML, or JWT
Older languages/frameworks such as PHP, jQuery and C#/ASP.Net
General skills & attitude:
Excited by technical design discussions and curious about the best way to implement features with customers in mind
Commitment to best practices in SDLC
Comfortable with fast pace – weekly releases and changing priorities
Excellent verbal and writing communication skills in English
If you are interested in making a difference in a small company, BuiltSpace is for you!
How to apply:
To be considered for the above opportunity, we invite you to send a cover letter outlining how your experience matches our posting plus salary range expectations and an up-to-date resume to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We thank all applicants for their interest but only those selected for an interview will be contacted. No unsolicited agency referrals please.
Remote working within Canada is an option. We have a Vancouver office and have strict COVID-19 safety protocols in place for days Vancouver staff members are in the office. Interviews will be conducted remotely via phone and video.
