Position: Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Project Delivery and Engineering

Department: Engineering

Reports To: Senior Project Manager

Location: Calgary

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our Project Delivery and Engineering Team. In this role, you will support project managers and engineers in constructing our first commercial-scale plant in Mississauga and in future plant constructions. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative projects that have a tangible impact on sustainability and carbon reduction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Project Planning: Collaborate with project manager and Project Engineer to develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Support Engineering Activities: Work alongside senior engineers to design, analyze, and implement systems and processes for plant construction and operation.
  • Site Coordination: Participate in on-site activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Assist in monitoring construction quality and adherence to design specifications, identifying and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure effective communication and project alignment.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or related field).
  • EIT Certification: Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in Alberta.
  • Experience: Previous internship or co-op experience in engineering or construction projects is an asset.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical abilities, effective communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
