About the role:

We are focused on changing the renewable energy industry, and as a Developer, you will have an opportunity to be part of this mission.

We are looking for a candidate who wants to do work that has an impact, not just in the industry but also on the environment. Your ability to ask questions, solve problems, and be an integral part of an open collaborative team will be a catalyst for your success.

You will help guide the product development team in designing, implementing, testing, and deploying features to help scale our intelligence. You will build AI-powered features and tools that improve how our customers engage with the platform. You will mentor and grow the skills of those around you, and lead technical initiatives to improve the stability, performance, and reliability of our analytics

Who You Are

• Passionate about our core values (communication, sustainability, inclusion, impact, and innovation)
• Highly experienced in backend software development, building and maintaining scalable, fault-tolerant SaaS products
• Interested in or have experience in building AI-powered features and products, with a strong interest in applying AI to improve developer workflows and platform capabilities
• Excited about the opportunity to join a rapidly expanding team that is developing software that meaningfully improves renewable energy management
• Motivated to work in an environment where everyone is focused on creating value for our customers
• Comfortable focusing among multiple competing priorities and approaching hard questions through a lens of curiosity

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and develop new internal and client-facing systems and features to support the automated delivery of Clir’s renewable energy intelligence
• Build and integrate AI-powered features and tools that enhance the productivity and experience for Clir’s customers
• Maintain and improve the performance of existing analytics features
• Collaborate with product management and team leadership to scope and size upcoming projects

What You’ll Need

• Interested in or have experience building AI-powered features and products, including integrating LLMs, ML models, or intelligent automation into production systems
• Experience building and maintaining scalable, fault-tolerant SaaS products
• Strong backend development skills with familiarity across the full stack
• Familiarity with effective agile and software development practices
• 4+ years of software development experience

Bonus

• Experience with any of: Python, Go, React, MySQL, Airflow, SCADA systems
• Experience working in a startup environment
• Ability to write internal technical documentation
• Experience working closely with product managers
