Conavi Medical’s Novasight Hybrid System enables simultaneous imaging of a patient’s coronary arteries using both intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) technologies.
If you would like to be a part of a talented team that is making a difference in healthcare, we are currently looking for an R&D Engineering Intern to contribute to the development of Conavi’s mechanical systems and any related support activity through performing assigned tasks while receiving hands-on experience in the design, development and verification and validation testing and documentation of these components throughout all phases of the hardware development lifecycle.
The internship begins in September 2025 (or earlier) and ends in August 2026.
In this position, you will:
- Contribute to the design and development of Conavi’s products, which may include projects related to:
- Theoretical analysis and experimentation
- Assist and support activities related to but not limited to documenting product specifications, root cause investigations and executing design testing that includes experimental design, error and statistical analysis
- Generating documentation to support design testing
- Application of medical device standards to generate design concepts
- 3D CAD modeling, simulation, tolerance analyses
- Hands-on prototype builds of design concepts and test fixtures for evaluation
- Generating technical drawings, models, schematics, Bills of Material (BOMs)
- Leverage analytical, mechanical and possibly some electromechanical skillset to support ongoing projects while working within the requirements of Conavi’s Quality Management System (QMS)
- Maintain a laboratory notebook on the premises or while traveling for work at suitable engineering standards, including proper dating and signatures
- Participate in, and adhere to, health and safety initiatives and requirements
You possess the following qualifications:
- University student pursuing a degree in Applied Science Engineering enrolled in an internship program that allows for an internship with a period of at least 12 months
- An awareness of Quality Management Systems is an asset
- Basic skills in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Teamwork-oriented approach to achieving goals
- Very Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational ability and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize duties and execute tasks in a timely manner
- Strong self-initiative and work ethic
