Position Overview:
As the Business Development Manager at Countable, your unique insight as a former accountant in public practice will be invaluable in understanding the nuanced needs of our clients. Your role will involve leveraging your firsthand experience to forge relationships, tailor solutions, and guide the evolution of our software offerings.
Responsibilities:
- Industry Insights: Utilize your background in public practice accounting to gain deep insights into the accounting/review/audit challenges, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends within the industry. Translate these insights into strategies that position our software as transformative solutions.
- Client Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders such as accounting professionals, compliance officers, and finance executives. Leverage your accounting expertise to empathies with their pain points and propose tailored solutions.
- Solution Customization: Collaborate closely with our technical teams to craft compelling proposals and presentations that showcase how our software aligns with client needs. Use your accounting background to articulate the benefits of our solutions.
- Consultative Approach: Apply your firsthand accounting knowledge to offer consultative advice, guiding clients through the decision-making process. Address concerns and queries while showcasing how our software optimizes workflows.
- Partnership Development: Identify strategic partnerships within the accounting and auditing space. Leverage your network and experience to foster relationships that amplify the value of our software offerings.
- Sales Strategy: Develop a strategic sales plan tailored to leverage your accounting background. Identify target market segments and devise action plans that align with our growth objectives.
- Negotiation and Closing: Lead contract negotiations, drawing on your understanding of auditing intricacies. Collaborate with legal and finance teams to ensure agreements are mutually beneficial.
- Collaboration: Collaborate seamlessly with marketing, product development, and customer support teams. Share insights from your accounting perspective to shape product enhancements.
- Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of sales activities and client interactions. Provide regular performance reports to senior management, leveraging data-driven insights to refine sales strategies.
- Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation is highly preferred.- 3+ years of experience as an accountant in public practice, with a solid understanding of compilation, review and auditing processes, compliance regulations, and industry standards.- Proven track record in business development, sales, or account management within the software industry.- Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences.- Strong relationship-building skills, drawing on your accounting background to understand and address client needs.- Strategic mindset with the ability to identify market trends and capitalize on opportunities.- Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team.- Proficiency in CRM software (HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.- Willingness to travel as needed for client engagement and industry events.
