Mobile Developer- Android
Deep Breathe
About Us
We are building ATLAS, a mobile platform that delivers real-time ultrasound diagnostics for trauma assessment across the chain of care, from the hospital to the front lines. Our mission is to bring advanced imaging and AI-driven insight directly to the point of care – empowering medics and clinicians to make faster, better decisions when every second matters. You will join a small, multidisciplinary team at the intersection of ultrasound imaging, AI, and mobile systems, where your work will directly shape how life-saving tools are used in real-world emergencies.
The Role
We are looking for a Mobile Developer with 1-3 years of experience building consumer Android applications who wants to work on medical devices and hardware-integrated software for real-time, AI-enabled applications. You will contribute to Android apps that interface with ultrasound hardware and cloud services, working with a team of engineers across mobile, backend, and hardware teams. No prior healthcare or medical device experience is required – we value strong Android fundamentals, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
● Design, develop, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin.
● Build intuitive user interfaces for real-time data display.
● Integrate existing Android apps with hardware SDKs and backend services.
● Apply consumer-grade UX and performance best practices to specialized workflows.
● Write clean, readable, and testable code.
● Participate in code reviews and team design discussions.
● Debug issues and help improve app stability and performance.
● Work closely with iOS, backend, and data engineers to ensure a consistent cross-platform experience, and when needed, support iOS development to maintain platform continuity.
Required Qualifications
● 1-3 years of professional Android development experience.
● Strong programming skills in Kotlin and experience with Jetpack Compose.
● Experience building mobile apps that communicate with APIs, devices, or real-time data sources.
● Familiarity with modern UI/UX principles and an appreciation for clean, functional design.
● Experienced with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
● (Bonus) Experience with Swift, or an interest in learning iOS development.
● (Bonus) Exposure to medical software, AI-assisted applications, or other regulated environments.
● (Bonus) Experience deploying and optimizing neural network models built with TensorFlow and/or PyTorch for on-device inference on Android or iOS.
● (Bonus) Experience with developing backends for mobile applications (on GCP or other cloud platforms).
