About Us
Deep Genomics is at the forefront of using artificial intelligence to transform drug discovery. Our proprietary AI platform decodes the complexity of RNA biology to identify novel drug targets, mechanisms, and therapeutics inaccessible through traditional methods. We bring together a multidisciplinary team spanning machine learning, bioinformatics, data science, engineering, and drug development, in Toronto, ON and in Cambridge, MA, to revolutionize modern medicine.
Where You Fit In
You will be responsible for working alongside both computational and wet-lab scientists and will experimentally validate genome-based therapeutics in cell culture systems. In addition, you will help design, execute, and troubleshoot novel high-throughput experiments to improve our computational platform.
If you have the curiosity, passion, and a collaborative spirit, let's work together!
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize a variety of different assays to screen thousands of RNA compounds for their impact on gene expression and/or Investigate and optimize new in-house screening technologies and continually improve established ones.
- Maintain detailed electronic laboratory notes pertaining to ongoing high throughput screens and experiments.
- Assist in general lab duties such as: lab equipment maintenance, autoclaving and inventorying, designed to maintain a smoothly operating laboratory.
- Handle automation machinery such as the Hamilton, BRAVO, and Echo to execute large scale screens.
- Routine culture/treatments of iPSC derived neurons, hepatocytes, and other in vitro models and cell lines.
Basic Qualifications:
- An undergraduate degree with 1-3 years of industry experience in the life sciences OR a master’s degree with 0-1 years of industry experience.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Comfort generating large volume, high sample throughput gene expression screening methodology (eg. ELISAs, luciferase, high content imaging/screening, RT-qPCR).
- Ability to demonstrate ownership, commitment, and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the company.
- Strong attention to detail in executing experiments and maintaining records.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a fully integrated lab environment that utilizes online lab systems tracking such as Benchling and molecular automation.
- Experience working with iPSCs, neural stem cells, hepatocytes, immortalized/cancer cell lines.
- Experience handling RNA samples and extractions.
- Previous experience working in a high-growth and/or biotechnology company.
What we offer
- A collaborative and innovative environment at the frontier of computational biology, machine learning, and drug discovery.
- Opportunities to work on groundbreaking research with a multidisciplinary team of experts.
- The chance to make a tangible impact in developing therapies for genetic diseases.
