About the Role
You’ll be joining our Finance team and reporting directly to the Assistant Controller. You’ll be using your skills to make our team efficient, accurate, and forward-thinking.
While your main responsibilities will include invoice and data processing, we are not looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk. We are looking for someone that can leverage NetSuite and our procurement application, Coupa, to optimize and automate our Accounts Payable processes as much as possible.
You will also be responsible for assisting with the monthly close process, ensuring our financial data remains accurate and reliable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, process, and match vendor invoices, credit notes, and receipts for multiple subsidiaries, ensuring all entries are accurate and follow the proper approval flow.
  • Manage communication with internal teams and vendors by monitoring and responding to inquiries, reconciling statements, and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Applying vendor payments to invoices.
  • Coding line level details such as department, account and project for employee reimbursements and credit card spend.
  • Assist with period end closing procedures including: preparing journal entries and supporting working papers and reconciling AP subledger to general ledger.

Basic Qualifications

  • An undergrad degree or diploma in accounting, finance or a related field.
  • Experience working effectively in AP role with three-way matching.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles including various data segments like Departments and Projects.
  • Diligence and strong attention to detail.
  • Curiosity and confidence to ask questions and seek clarity when needed.
  • Generally tech savvy and quick learner of new software applications.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, including lookups and pivot tables.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to solve payment and invoice inquiries.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience with ERP and procurement systems an asset (preferably NetSuite and Coupa).
