e-Zn is a Toronto-based company that has developed a breakthrough electrochemical technology, the Zn Reactor, for storing energy in zinc metal. This economical long-duration energy storage solution will make renewable energy such as solar and wind economic, competitive, and reliable. The company is currently leading an industrial consortium to conduct a project awarded by SDTC to demonstrate the storage of solar energy with a Zn Reactor system in an off-grid setting. It consists of 5kW solar panels and 1kW/24 hours of energy storage. e-Zn is currently seeking funding for its next phase of growth. Interested parties are welcome to reach out for more information.
