We are seeking a qualified Electrician with strong electrical capabilities and mechanical aptitude - someone who is passionate about their craft and committed to working safely and effectively in the field. This role involves on-site work at client windfarms on a rotating schedule (on-site / at-home). While on-site, accommodation and a daily per diem allowance for meals are provided.

Your impact and responsibilities

You will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation, maintenance, and performance of our BorealisWind Ice Protection Systems.

In this role, you will:

• Climb wind turbine towers to install, inspect, maintain, and/or repair BorealisWind proprietary electrical systems
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical circuits, components, and systems - as well as mechanical and hydraulic systems when required
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
• Liaise with FabricAir's operations and engineering teams to resolve on-site issues
• Document electrical issues and maintain resolution logs for future reference
• Replace or repair faulty electrical components, wiring, and equipment
• Contribute to non-conformance reports based on findings during maintenance and inspection
• Diagnose new electrical non-conformances in collaboration with the Operations team
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal Ice Protection System performance
• Act as a point of contact to the site supervisor, ensuring ongoing, reliable communication of turbine status
• Act safely and responsibly during all tasks on-site

It’s an advantage if you have:

• A valid Electrician license or equivalent combination of education and experience (Red Seal Certification is an asset)
• Experience working in industrial or renewable energy environments (wind industry experience is a plus)
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including low and medium voltage systems and control panels
• Familiarity with mechanical and hydraulic systems
• Demonstrated results/experience in Health & Safety, customer service, and technical troubleshooting
• Ability to ascend to heights up to 250 feet or greater, work in confined spaces, discern colours, and meet bodyweight restrictions of 260 pounds
• Capacity to anticipate and mitigate potential electrical issues in the field
• Willingness to work rotating shifts (e.g. 3 weeks on / 2 weeks off)
