Technician

Are you hands-on, safety-minded, and ready to work at heights? Join a global team installing and servicing wind turbine systems on rotating shifts.

We are seeking a qualified Technician with both electrical and mechanical capabilities -someone who is passionate about their craft and committed to working safely and effectively in the field. This role involves on-site work at client windfarms on a rotating schedule (on-site / at-home). While on-site, accommodation and a daily per diem allowance for meals are provided.

You will be a great fit if you are highly organized, self-directed, and quick to take initiative when challenges - or opportunities - arise.

You’ll join a global company with more than 50 years of experience in delivering high-performance air distribution solutions, constantly pushing boundaries beyond what conventional ventilation systems can do.

Your impact and responsibilities
You will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of the service and installation of our BorealisWind Ice Protection Systems.

In this role, you will:

  • Climb wind turbine towers to install, inspect, maintain and/or repair BorealisWind proprietary equipment or third-part equipment.
  • Test and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and hydraulic components and systems
  • Liaise with FabricAir's operations and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve identified issues.
  • Maintain issues logs and document resolution process for future application.
  • Replace worn or malfunctioning components and recommend preventive actions.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and address non-conformances to improve Ice Protection System performance with the Operations team during maintenance visits.
  • Perform repairs and adjustments to remediate and prevent non-conformances or increase Ice Protection System performance during maintenance visits.
  • Act as a point of contact to site supervisor, ensuring on-going, reliable communication of turbine status.
  • Act safely and responsible during all tasks on-site.

Who you are

You’re someone who takes pride in doing things right the first time—organized, hands-on, and focused on the details that matter. You work well on your own, but you also know how to be a solid team player when the job calls for it.

You’re reliable, safety-minded, and don’t back away from a challenge. When something’s not working, you dig in, figure it out, and fix it. You’re not afraid to speak up, share ideas, or ask questions—because getting the job done right means staying connected with the people around you.

At FabricAir, you’ll play an important role in keeping our systems running smoothly and supporting our customers in the field. If you like having a clear purpose, working with your hands, and being part of something bigger, we think you’ll fit right in.

It's an advantage if you have:

  • 2-3 year experience as an electrician or mechanic or technical degree/diploma in an engineering related field or equivalent
  • Technical Competency in the Wind Industry is an asset
  • Demonstrated results/experience in Health & Safety, customer service and technical skills
  • Must be able to ascend to heights up to 250 feet or greater, work in confined spaces, discern colours and meet bodyweight restrictions of 260 pounds.
  • Proactive attitude and "hands-on" approach
