The company focuses on short-haul, B2B logistics for Fortune 500 customers including Kroger, Walmart, Tyson Foods, Loblaw, Pitney Bowes, Georgia-Pacific, and KBX; enabling them to optimize their hub-and-spoke supply chain operations, enhance service levels and product flow across multiple locations while reducing labor costs and meeting an unprecedented expectation for faster deliveries. Gatik’s Class 3-7 autonomous box trucks are commercially deployed in multiple markets including Texas, Arkansas, and Ontario, Canada.
About the role
What you'll do
- Create and prepare datasets to ensure they are suitable for training ML models.
- Train machine learning models on large-scale datasets and evaluate their performance using appropriate metrics.
- Use cross-validation and other validation techniques to ensure model robustness and generalization
- Optimize machine learning algorithms for real-time performance and low-latency processing.
- Implement efficient computational methods to handle large volumes of sensor data.
- Conduct extensive testing in simulation environments to validate models across various scenarios.
- Implement online learning techniques to continuously improve models based on new data.
- Monitor deployed systems and update models to handle new scenarios and edge cases.
- Work closely with software developers, hardware engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of ML models.
- Ensure all systems comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of industry experience in machine learning, with a focus on perception and prediction systems for autonomous vehicles.
- Strong programming skills in Python and proficiency in ML libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Extensive experience with sensor data processing and sensor fusion techniques.
- Proven track record of developing and deploying ML models in production environments.
- Deep understanding of algorithms for object detection, recognition, and behavior prediction.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Bonus
- Experience with autonomous vehicle platforms and simulation tools.
- Knowledge of C++ and real-time systems development.
- Publications or patents in relevant fields of machine learning and autonomous driving.
