Responsibilities
Systems & Process (50%)
- Define the Standard: Establish, document, and maintain standardized QC workflows and SOPs
- Bridge R&D and Production: Collaborate with engineering to define technical requirements and success criteria for new automated testing rigs
- Scale the Future: Lead the company’s roadmap toward future ISO 9001 certification
- Optimize Supply Chain: Manage inbound component validation and supplier compliance via Odoo
Hands-on Validation (50%)
- Technical Inspection: Perform hands-on quality inspections of high-complexity robotic controllers (PCBs, mechanical assemblies, and external finishes)
- Final Gatekeeper: Own the final packaging and kitting processes to ensure every unit is pristine and correctly configured prior to shipment
- Iterate: Improve inspection repeatability and reliability as our production volume scales
Must Have
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Automated Production Engineering
- Hardware Experience: 3+ years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role within commercial hardware, robotics, or medical devices
- Systems Thinking: Proven experience with statistical sampling plans (AQL/ANSI ASQ Z1.4) and building QC processes from scratch
- Technical Communication: Ability to "talk the talk" with R&D engineers and translate complex requirements into repeatable production tests
- ERP Proficiency: Hands-on experience using Odoo or a similar ERP system for inventory and procurement workflows
- Bilingualism: Functional proficiency in both French and English
Nice to have
- Certification: Six Sigma Green Belt or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with Python for test script feedback or basic CAD for jig and fixture suggestions
- Professional Status: Eligibility for or registration with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIE)
