Day to Day

As Distinguished Engineer, AI at Indeed, you will be instrumental in revolutionizing hiring through artificial intelligence. You’ll work with hundreds of engineers across the company to build an AI platform and solutions that impact millions of job seekers and employers daily. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and standards for all aspects of the AI platform and AI product development including evaluation, fine tuning, context, safety, and deployment.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and technical excellence.
  • Drive quality improvements using the latest techniques and approaches.
  • Ship AI products that measurably improve job seeker and employer outcomes.
  • Ensure ethical use of AI by implementing robust governance frameworks, monitoring model performance, and mitigating biases and risks.
  • Collaborate closely with the AI product team to drive the vision of the AI Platform and Indeed’s advanced AI-based products.
  • Drive the evolution of Indeed’s ML platforms, including its shared fact/feature store, ML ops, and model management platform.

Skills/Competencies

  • 10+ years of proven and practical expertise at the forefront of Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning, driving measurable results with production applications.
  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, ML, Statistics, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Deep expertise in AI platforms, infrastructure, and production ML systems.
  • Successful track record of providing technical direction to high-performance, fast-paced, tech organizations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with the executive team, fellow team members, and partners, with the ability to translate complex AI/ML concepts into clear and actionable insights for diverse audiences.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning in academia, industry, and open source, applying this knowledge to improve products and platforms.
  • Passion for Responsible AI and Environment, Social, and Governance issues in AI.

Tier 1 - United States of America 230,000 - 346,000 USD per year

Tier 2 - United States of America 255,000 - 383,000 USD per year

Tier 3 - United States of America 282,000 - 424,000 USD per year

Tier 5 - United States of America 321,000 - 481,000 USD per year

The salary range for this role reflects the minimum and maximum compensation for the role. Offers are typically made between the range minimum and the range midpoint. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process.
