THE ROLE: Assistant Controller

As an Assistant Controller at Intellijoint Surgical you will help build the next generation of financial operations at Intellijoint. You will play a key role in owning our core accounting processes, reporting and controls – shaping the future of Finance at a scaling MedTech company. Reporting to the Controller, you will work cross-functionally with teams across the organization, including Operations, Commercial, and R&D.

THE DETAILS: What You Will Do

  • Manage accounting operations: review journal entries, payroll, revenue, AR, AP, inventory, and cost of sales

  • Play a lead role in streamlining and implementing accounting processes and systems

  • Establish and monitor internal controls that scale with the business

  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results for each department

  • Consolidate and review budgets across departments in line with company strategy

  • Work closely with external auditors, funders, and lenders

  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all financial information

  • Coordinate the year-end audit and prepare audited financial statements

  • Oversee monthly financial statements and external reporting requirements

  • Support new system implementations from a finance and controls perspective

  • Identify and lead process improvements and automation initiatives

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly reporting packages for the management team and board

  • Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • CPA designation with public accounting experience (Big 4 or equivalent strongly preferred)

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, controls, and reporting

  • Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills and comfort learning new systems

  • Clear and confident communication skills — written and verbal

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven

  • Natural curiosity, strong analytical thinking, and a desire to improve how things work

  • Interest in mentorship and team leadership as you grow
