Innovation & Grants Program Manager – R&D to Commercialization

Position Overview

The Innovation & Grants Program Manager plays a key role in shaping the next generation of eCAMION’s EV charging and energy storage products. The role focuses on product strategy, market development, grants, and funding programs that support our technology roadmap.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Software, Systems Engineering, Engineering Science, or a closely related technical field (or equivalent deep-tech program leadership experience).
  • 5–8 years of experience managing technical programs/projects in hardware/software environments (e.g., EV charging, energy systems, IoT, telecom, industrial automation, power electronics).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading government grant / incentive / funding applications, including at least two of the following:
    • Drafting or coordinating technical narrative and work plan
    • Building project milestones / deliverables / schedule
    • Developing or coordinating budget, quotes, and cost breakdowns
    • Coordinating partner inputs (vendors, universities, collaborators)
    • Handling reporting requirements after award (claims, evidence, deliverables)
  • Proven ability to design and run an R&D project using structured program management:
    • Work packages, milestones, risk registers, meeting cadence, change control, documentation discipline.
  • Proven ability to work with technical teams and understand system-level decisions across:
    • Power electronics / energy systems, and at least one of firmware/embedded, energy system management, or cloud/edge software.
  • Strong writing skills and attention to detail: ability to produce submission-quality documents (grant applications, technical submissions, investment/project memos, reporting packages).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills (internal cross-functional + external agencies/partners).
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada (international applicants must provide proof of valid work permit).
Preferred

  • Experience driving R&D outcomes into commercialization (prototype → validation → compliance/certification → manufacturability → pilot deployment).
  • Familiarity with IRAP / NRCan / IESO / OTF / utility programs or comparable funding ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with OCPP, UL/IEC requirements, interconnection rules, metering/measurement, or safety/certification processes.
  • Experience supporting technical due diligence for financing or strategic customers (data rooms, Q&A, technical decks).
  • MBA or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Public Policy, or related field (asset, not required).
  • Valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally.

The expected annual salary range for this position is $85,000 to $115,000, with final compensation determined based on skills, qualifications, and relevant experience. We are committed to pay equity and to offering compensation that is fair, transparent, and competitive.
