We’re an early-stage startup and looking for a founding engineer to help us build from the ground up.The OpportunityThis is a founding role — you won’t just be writing code, you’ll be shaping the technical direction, architecture, and culture of the engineering team from day one. This is an equity-only position to start: 1% equity, with an 8-month cliff and a 2.5-year total vesting period. We expect to transition this role to include salary by end of 2026 / early Q1 2027, as we close funding / hit revenue milestones. This is ideal for someone who wants real ownership and outsized long-term upside in exchange for getting in early.What You’ll Do
- Architect and build blockchain-based applications and backend services from scratch
- Design and implement smart contracts for payment and settlement workflows
- Integrate wallets, blockchain APIs, and stablecoin payment rails
- Make foundational technical decisions that will shape the product for years to come
- Work directly with founders on product, architecture, and go-to-market technical needs
- Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code — and set the standards others will follow
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve blockchain infrastructure and application performance
- Stay current with developments across Ethereum, Layer 2 networks, stablecoins, and emerging blockchain technologies
What We’re Looking For
- Tangible, hands-on experience with blockchain and stablecoin technology— production projects, live protocols, or deep technical work (not just coursework or theoretical familiarity)
- Diploma, Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Experience developing software using one or more of JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Python, Go, Rust, or Solidity
- Solid understanding of blockchain fundamentals, Ethereum, smart contracts, and decentralized applications
- Familiarity with Git, REST APIs, databases, and cloud development
- Comfort with ambiguity and the pace of an early-stage startup — you’ll be defining process, not just following it
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a small team
- Curiosity, initiative, and genuine excitement about building something from zero
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience building stablecoin payment rails or settlement systems
- Experience developing smart contracts using Solidity or similar languages
- Familiarity with Ethereum, Base, Polygon, Solana, or other blockchain ecosystems
- Experience with Web3 libraries such as ethers.js, viem, or web3.js
- Hackathons, research experience, or open-source contributions in blockchain/crypto
- Prior startup or founding-team experience
Compensation
- 1% equity
- 8-month cliff
- 2.5-year total vesting period
- Salary component expected to begin end of 2026 / early Q1 2027, contingent on funding/revenue milestones
