Position Overview:

Reporting to the Vice President, People and Culture, the Manager, Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) is responsible for advancing KHP’s IDEA Strategy & Action Plan.This role involves creating and refining policies and procedures to support IDEA objectives, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards, and providing training programs to educate employees on IDEA principles. The IDEA Manager also works closely with HR to implement inclusive recruitment and retention practices and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to promote IDEA initiatives, fostering a more inclusive and equitable workplace culture.


What You’ll Contribute:

  • Oversees and manage KHP’s IDEA Strategy & Action Plan
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, advising leadership on IDEA issues and recommending actions to enhance IDEA within the organization.
  • Benchmark best practices and collect and analyze organizational metrics to identify opportunities to strengthen IDEA within KHP.
  • Leads internal communication on IDEA related initiatives, observances and milestones.
  • Develop and implement strategies and mitigate issues related to racism, including anti-black racism, and other forms of systemic discrimination.
  • Develop and implement initiatives and programs specifically designed to support and promote the inclusion of equity-deserving groups, including visible minorities, women, disabled, LGBTQ+ employees within the KHP (e.g. Pride; Black History Month; Truth and Reconciliation etc.)
  • Oversee the development and implementation of an Employment Equity Program
  • Design, deliver and oversee training programs to educate employees on IDEA principles and practices, fostering a more inclusive workplace culture.
  • Collaborate with talent acquisition team to implement inclusive recruitment, hiring, and retention practices to build a diverse workforce.
  • Oversee the implementation and ongoing compliance of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), ensuring that all programs, services, and facilities meet accessibility standards.
  • Co-lead the implementation of the Psychological Health and Safety Standard in the workplace as outlined by the Mental Health Commission of Canada.
  • Co-chairs the OPSEAU Equity Committee
  • Work closely with KHP Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to align their goals with the organization’s diversity and inclusion strategy, helping to create a sense of community, promote cultural awareness, and drive positive change.

What You’ll Need:

  • University degree in related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of full-time experience in diversity and/or employment equity work,
  • Proven experience, education and an awareness regarding anti-racism, a strong commitment to and understanding of Reconciliation foundation and principles, as well as best practices to honour and support re: people with disabilities, women and 2SLGBTQI+
  • Knowledge of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Ontario Human Rights Code and the Canadian Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively advocate for IDEA principles.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Bilingualism is considered a strong asset but not required
