As we enter our next phase of growth, we are hiring a Director of People to help create clearer ways of working and support a high performance culture across the company.

Location: Hybrid based in Dublin, Ireland with occasional travel to Toronto, Canada office
Reporting to: CEO initially, transitioning to COO

Working model: Hybrid

Team: 42 FTE and 20 contractors, scaling to 75+

Role Description

The opportunity

Klir is entering its next phase of growth following our Series B. As we scale, we are investing in stronger leadership, clearer ways of working and a high performance culture that supports both delivery and sustainability.

We are hiring a Director of People to act as a true partner to the leadership team. This role is about building the systems, standards and practices that help teams do their best work as Klir grows.

This is a senior individual contributor role with full autonomy and executive trust. The title is Director, but the impact and scope are company wide.

We are open to part time applicants for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

Building a high performance people system.

  • Review, redesign and run an improved performance management processes aligned to company goals.
  • Support managers to set expectations, give feedback and lead effectively.
  • Ensure accountability is fair, consistent and transparent.
  • Partner with leadership on performance decisions as the company scales.

Leading our hybrid working model

  • Own and implement Klir’s hybrid working approach including regular in person collaboration
  • Help teams transition smoothly with clarity and consistency
  • Ensure hybrid work supports productivity, connection and execution

Manager capability and career development

  • Raise the bar on what good management looks like at Klir by ensuring one aligned system for management in Klir with effective training and alignment.
  • Introduce simple, credible career paths and progression frameworks
  • Align growth, compensation and development with impact and results

Workforce planning and people operations

  • Partner with Finance and leadership on headcount planning
  • Own and lead end-to-end recruitment, partnering with leaders to hire high-quality talent efficiently as the company scale
  • Ensure policies and practices scale across Ireland, Canada and the US
  • Balance compliance with pragmatism across jurisdictions

Trusted partner to leadership

  • Act as a calm, objective advisor to the C level.
  • Help leadership make clear people decisions and execute them well
  • Build trust across the organisation through consistency and fairness
  • Actively shape and reinforce Klir’s culture by translating values into clear expectations and behaviours as the organisation grows.

Building culture, community and engagement

  • Intentionally build a cooperative, high-trust culture where teams collaborate effectively across functions and geographies
  • Strengthen employees’ sense of belonging and connection as the organisation scales
  • Create mechanisms to listen to employee feedback and turn insights into action
  • Embed Klir’s values into everyday behaviours, rituals and ways of working

What success looks like?

Within 6 to 12 months:

  • Managers are confident and consistent in how they lead
  • Team mates are clear in their expectations and are supported to achieve their goals by their managers.
  • Hybrid working is established and working well to drive personal health and well being through collaboration as well as effective attainment of company objectives.
  • Performance conversations are normal, timely and constructive
  • The organisation feels focused, fair and well run

Requirements (Sound like you?)

Required experience

  • Senior People or HR leadership experience in a scaling technology company
  • Strong judgement and comfort operating in a commercial environment
  • Experience supporting leaders through growth and change
  • Ability to operate autonomously with executive trust in a fast changing environment.

Strongly preferred

  • Experience working across Ireland, Canada and the US
  • Background in hybrid or distributed teams
  • Experience partnering closely with founder led leadership teams
