Job Description:
The Asset Based Lending team operates within the Commercial National Accounts ("CNA") division of TD Business Banking. We are a specialized lending group which provides dedicated relationship coverage to asset-based clients across the country with annual revenues generally ranging from $50 million to $2 billion and typical credit requirements in excess of $25,000,000. Credit relationships are complex and are comprised of both bilateral and syndicated transactions. The group consists of senior asset-based lending professionals who combine specific industry knowledge and extensive deal structuring experience to offer a full suite of customized credit and cash management solutions to meet the complex needs of our clients. The team works closely with the TD Securities team in the firm's overall coverage activities.
Job Details:
The Director, Credit Execution leads a team of Associates & Associate Directors, providing guidance, leadership, coaching and development to ensure business results and professional / personal development objectives are achieved for the overall group. The Director, Credit Execution works closely with the Director (s), origination for the overall execution of transactions and is responsible for the credit portfolio, ensuring structured deals meet risk policies, and may also actively structure more complex deals in the unit or market. They are accountable for delivering a superior customer experience while driving profitable business growth, in line with business strategy.
Specific job functions include:
- Lead the execution and achievement of the business's customer and partner experience targets; coach and model appropriate behavior and execute plans to continuously improve customer experience.
- Work with the deal team to complete initial due diligence on new opportunities including business, industry, financial and commercial due diligence.
- Contribute to growth of the unit by assisting in structuring competitive packages while maintaining a balanced view of risk and credit quality.
- Responsible for transaction execution along with the other members of the deal team
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the business plan, goal setting, growth strategies and coaching for the Unit.
- Assess, and manage, credit risk in compliance with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, risk policies) to increase profitability and enable business growth.
- Oversee, lead, and coach a team of associates & associate directors while growing talent, developing skills and capabilities to achieve career goals and business results.
- The team coordinates closely with TD Securities for M&A advisory, equity,other debt capital markets, and hedging expertise as required.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
- Previous experience in asset based lending, with preference for experience in complex, corporate-style transactions.
- Robust organizational and team management skills with the ability to work in a demanding environment and handle multiple deadlines and changing priorities.
- Very solid credit, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong team player, with an ability to work both in a team environment and independently.
- The ability to engage in active dialogue with internal and external stakeholders (Unit VP, clients, legal counsel etc.).
Specific Educational Requirements/Accreditations:
- An undergraduate or graduate degree in Business, Economics, Finance or other quantitative discipline. MBA or CFA would be an asset

Le Directeur, Exécution du Crédit dirige une équipe de professionnels (Associé(e)s et Directeurs Associé(e)s), en assurant l’encadrement, le leadership, le coaching et le développement afin d’atteindre les résultats d’affaires ainsi que les objectifs de développement professionnel et personnel du groupe. Le Directeur, Exécution du crédit travaille étroitement avec le Directeur (Origination) pour l’exécution globale des transactions et est responsable du portefeuille de crédit, en veillant à ce que les structures de transactions respectent les politiques de risque. Il peut également structurer activement des transactions plus complexes au sein de l’unité ou du marché. Il est responsable d’offrir une expérience client supérieure tout en favorisant une croissance rentable des activités, conformément à la stratégie d’affaires.
Fonctions principales:
• Diriger l’exécution et l’atteinte des objectifs d’expérience client et partenaires; agir comme modèle, coacher les équipes et mettre en œuvre des plans visant l’amélioration continue de l’expérience client.
• Travailler avec l’équipe pour réaliser la revue diligente initiale sur les nouvelles opportunités, incluant l’analyse commerciale, sectorielle, financière et opérationnelle.
• Contribuer à la croissance de l’unité en aidant à structurer des solutions compétitives tout en maintenant un équilibre entre risque et qualité de crédit.
• Responsable de l’exécution des transactions en collaboration avec les autres membres de l’équipe.
• Contribuer à l’élaboration et à la mise en œuvre du plan d’affaires, à la définition des objectifs, aux stratégies de croissance et au coaching au sein de l’unité.
• Évaluer et gérer le risque de crédit en conformité avec les exigences internes et externes applicables (contrôles financiers, politiques de gestion des risques, etc.) afin d’accroître la rentabilité et soutenir la croissance des activités.
• Superviser, diriger et encadrer une équipe d’Associé(e)s et de Directeurs Associé(e)s en développant les talents, les compétences et les capacités afin d’atteindre les objectifs de carrière et les résultats d’affaires.
L’équipe collabore étroitement avec Valeurs Mobilières TD pour les services-conseils en fusions et acquisitions, les marchés des capitaux, les financements par emprunt et les solutions de couverture, au besoin.

Qualifications / Compétences / Expérience :
• Expérience antérieure en prêts reposant sur actifs, avec une préférence pour une expérience dans des transactions complexes de type corporatif.
• Solides compétences organisationnelles et en gestion d’équipe, avec la capacité d’évoluer dans un environnement exigeant comportant des échéanciers multiples et des priorités changeantes.
• Excellentes compétences en crédit, analyse et résolution de problèmes.
• Excellentes aptitudes en communication et en organisation.
• Esprit d’équipe marqué, avec la capacité de travailler autant de manière collaborative qu’indépendante.
• Capacité à entretenir un dialogue actif avec les parties prenantes internes et externes (VP d’unité, clients, conseillers juridiques, etc.).
Exigences académiques / Accréditations :
• Diplôme universitaire de premier ou deuxième cycle en administration, économie, finance ou autre discipline quantitative. Un MBA ou CFA constitue un atout.
• Minimum de 6 années d’expérience pertinente.
