Job Description:

TD Asset Management (TDAM), a member of TD Bank Financial Group, is a leading North American investment manager offering progressive investment solutions to both institutional and individual investors. As of September 30, 2025, TDAM and its affiliates manage over $500 billion in assets on behalf of pension, insurance, endowment/foundation, and corporate clients, as well as high-net worth clients and retail mutual funds.

In attaining this client commitment, TDAM has built one of Canada’s largest and most respected investment management and research teams with more than 220 Portfolio Managers, Associate Portfolio Managers, Traders and Analysts.

Job Accountabilities

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join TDAM's multi-asset trading team. Trading activities will include both electronic and voice execution for both listed and Over-the-Counter (OTC) instruments across multiple asset classes. Instruments may include options, futures, foreign exchange, commodities, currency and interest rate derivatives.

The trader will work independently to provide subject matter expertise to portfolio managers including market dynamics, liquidity conditions, price movements, etc. The trader will also help expand analytical capabilities and perform administrative tasks related to derivative trading.

Key Responsibilities

More specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Execute necessary trading on behalf of portfolio managers while seeking best execution
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of real-time developments in global financial markets and stay up to date on the changing regulatory environment
  • Perform quantitative analysis and evaluation of relevant market data, including TCA, as required to support trading strategy decisions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with trading counterparties and vendors
  • Assist with increasing efficiency and effectiveness of technology initiatives and functional enhancements as it relates to derivative trading
  • Help expand trading capabilities into new products and/or asset classes

Qualifications and Skills

  • 3–5 years of expereince preferably in asset management, capital markets or trading firm

  • Expering using Bloomberg, Charles River or other Trading platforms

  • Proven high attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of derivative products and financial markets

  • Awareness of market structure developments and trading-related technology

  • Capable of analyzing complex data sets and making inferences

  • Comfortable with working in complex workflow processes

  • Ability to work under pressure, tight deadlines and rapidly changing financial markets

  • Ability to prioritize and effectively multitask

  • Ability to work in a team or individually

  • Advanced in VBA and working knowledge of other programming languages

  • Excellent oral and written communication and negotiation skills

  • Ability to nimbly adapt and upgrade existing procedures and technology to meet changing needs

Educational Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree with a focus on financial engineering or quantitative disciplines is an asset
  • Completion of the CFA program is an asset but not required
