Job Description:

Job Overview

The Technology Lead is accountable for leading the design, development, and delivery of technology capabilities supporting Investment Management account opening and account maintenance platforms. This role drives predictable, high‑quality delivery while fostering a strong culture of ownership, accountability, and technical excellence.

This leader works closely with Product, Architecture, and Business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable solutions aligned with TD’s Wealth and Investment Management strategy.

Key Accountabilities

Delivery & Execution

  • Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of technology features supporting Investment Management account opening and account maintenance journeys
  • Own delivery commitments, timelines, and outcomes with strong deadline orientation and execution discipline
  • Ensure solutions meet enterprise engineering, security, regulatory, and risk standards
  • Actively manage dependencies, risks, and delivery impediments, escalating as required

Technical Leadership

  • Provide hands‑on technical leadership across:
    • Java Spring Boot backend services
    • Angular front‑end applications
    • Azure cloud‑based application architectures
  • Guide teams in designing and implementing event‑driven architectures using event streaming platforms
  • Partner with Architecture to ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, and aligned with TD’s technology standards

People & Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop engineers with a strong focus on ownership, accountability, and delivery excellence
  • Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrate proven leadership experience, setting clear expectations and holding teams accountable for outcomes
  • Support talent development, performance management, and succession planning

Stakeholder & Communication

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills across technology and business audiences
  • Act as a trusted partner to Product, Business, and Platform teams within Wealth and Investment Management
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear business impact and delivery updates

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of proven leadership experience in an engineering management or technical leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience delivering technology solutions within Investment Management or Wealth platforms
  • Strong experience in:
    • Java Spring Boot
    • Angular
    • Azure application development
    • Event streaming / event‑driven platforms
  • Strong delivery mindset with demonstrated ownership, accountability, and deadline‑driven execution
  • Experience leading teams through full SDLC in regulated, enterprise environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
