Reporting into the Executive Program Manager, The Process Engineer will take responsibility for all design, build and commissioning of assigned Spoke equipment. Including but not limited to, the processes, equipment, and assembly activities of Spoke modules. The ideal candidate is expected to pro-actively identify where equipment and processes can be adapted and optimized to ensure cost effectiveness and improve delivery. Candidate must possess the capabilities to drive the requirements into the development and continuously improve products, equipment, and processes. Throughout the build process, the Project Engineer will verify that information is communicated accurately to ensure modules are built quickly, safely and can be commissioned in the applicable jurisdiction of the world with minimal field modifications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage creation of layouts, P&ID’s, equipment drawings (Vendor and internal) to ensure the design meets or exceeds the needs of the Li-Cycle facility.
  • Manage creation and review of manufacturing drawing or instructions necessary to build all Spoke related equipment.
  • Manage creation of installation and test plans for successful commissioning activities.
  • Interact with other Spoke facilities to share best practice ideas to maximize output.
  • Improve design to decrease module build time and complexity.
  • Develop engineering design calculations and equipment sizing calculations
  • Establish and maintain work standards for product costing and productivity measurement.
  • Manage project changes as related to equipment and processes.
  • Support equipment installation and commissioning field activities to ensure modules are installed on schedule.

Job Qualifications:

  • Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree
  • 5 years experience as a project engineer or similar.
  • 5 years plant operational or maintenance experience required in an industrial facility.
  • Experience of taking projects from conception to installation through to startup.
  • Ability to create and read engineering drawings, standards, and P&ID drawings.
  • Proven ability to create and execute project plans that have achieved the identified targets.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. (good English Language skills)
  • The ability to produce concise reports and presentations to communicate status of assigned projects/tasks.
  • Effective time management skills.
