Job Description
At LinkedIn, our approach to flexible work is centered on trust and optimized for culture, connection, clarity, and the evolving needs of our business. The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.
This role can be based in San Francisco, Mountain View, or Sunnyvale.
In this role, we are looking for a savvy communications professional to drive our U.S. consumer communication program focused on helping people leverage LinkedIn as part of their professional lives. This person will be responsible for consumer storytelling tied to the latest cultural trends driving the world of work. The candidate must have an appetite for creative storytelling and do so across traditional, emerging and owned content.
This person will be responsible for NAMER Consumer Communications which works hand in hand with LinkedIn senior executives and the top-tier press to help professionals leverage LinkedIn. This includes advising and activating executive online presence, speaking engagements and media opportunities. This person will also be responsible for opportunistic and large scale communications programs, support peers with consumer storytelling across the business . This person will be involved in all stages of the consumer communications initiatives -- from concept formulation, cross-functional planning, message development, media relationships, owned content strategy, execution and results-oriented reporting and must be a good collaborator and exhibit a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities:
- Own and drive opportunistic and large scale global consumer comms programs and U.S. consumer communications work.
- Deliver and drive top-tier consumer press results including securing and managing traditional media outlets, including national broadcast segments, and emerging media outlets.
- Have well-developed media relationships and an ability to build and grow new relationships.
- Primary day to day four U.S. consumer career expert program which serves as the liaison for our senior most consumer spokespeople, managing their press opportunities, original content/social presence.
- Own consumer facing assets including key consumer messaging, FAQs, and owned content (e.g. newsletters, short form posts, scripts).
- Oversee internal reporting for consumer communications.
- Serve as day to day lead for U.S. consumer communications agency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with and provide expert communications counsel to internal and external partners
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 9 years of experience in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related experience, AND 3 years of experience in External Communications or Social Media OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field AND minimum 6 years of experience in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related experience, AND 3 years of experience in External Communications or Social Media
- 9+ years of experience in external communications roles which includes traditional media and owned content
- 9+ years of experience supporting senior executives
- A passion for pop culture and larger workplace trends to help inform the places where LinkedIn and our spokespeople should be appearing
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with editorial, product, social media and partnerships
- Research and analytical skills, including the ability to monitor and analyze industry news and trends
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and unstructured, deadline-oriented environment
- Possess a high degree of integrity and sense of confidentiality
- Ability to demonstrate maturity and good judgment at all times
- Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail and an innate ability to stay on top of multiple projects at once
- Experience with project management and decision-making skills
- Willing to travel if necessary
