About the role

As the Senior Program Manager of Career Development, you will lead Zillow’s career development and internal mobility strategy. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Talent Management, you’ll design, pilot, and scale systems and tools that empower employees to navigate dynamic career journeys powered by data, AI, and a deep understanding of evolving business needs. Your work will directly shape how employees grow, move, and thrive at Zillow, driving a culture of growth and career ownership.

You Will Get To

  • Lead the creation and execution of an enterprise-wide career development strategy that supports growth, skill adaptability, and internal mobility.

  • Own and evolve career development, transforming it into dynamic, integrated experiences (e.g. AI-powered tools/assessments, personalized development maps, synchronous learning programs, and mobility match engines) embedded throughout the employee journey that help employees actively chart their paths.

  • Collaborate with leaders, HRBPs, and analytics partners to build dynamic, forward-looking career pathways aligned with Zillow’s evolving skills needs, external market data, and the future of work. Leverage existing leveling guides as a foundation to shift towards modular, cross-functional growth paths that encourage experimentation and skill diversification.

  • Develop and launch pilots to test scalable mobility solutions, measuring outcomes like retention, engagement, and movement velocity.

  • Own Zillow’s business education strategy by developing resources and experiences that connect individual roles to broader company goals and strengthen strategic decision-making.

  • Operationalize Zillow’s core values by designing and delivering learning experiences that embed them into day-to-day culture.

  • Continuously measure, improve, and communicate the impact of career development initiatives.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $105,900.00 - $169,100.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Talent Management, Organizational Development, or Learning & Development, with a strong track record in career development, internal mobility, or future-skills initiatives.

  • Hands-on experience designing and scaling career frameworks, development paths, or job architectures that adapt to business change.

  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional programs from concept through pilot, adoption, and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborative mindset with experience partnering across functions such as Compensation, HRIS, and Talent Acquisition.

  • Familiarity with job leveling, skills mapping, and early career program design, with curiosity about evolving these in a skills-based, AI-powered future.

  • Experience implementing or optimizing learning platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Learning, LMSs) to support self-directed development at scale.

  • Clear, compelling communication, whether writing content, presenting ideas to execs, or facilitating and delivering workshops to a large group.

  • Technologically fluent and energized by emerging tools—especially AI—with a proactive approach to exploring and adopting innovations that drive impact.

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field (HR, Organizational Development, Psychology, etc.), or equivalent experience.
