Job Description

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.
This role is preferred to be based in our Bay Area office locations (San Francisco or Mountain View), New York City, or Washington D.C.
As a Policy Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping and enforcing the policies that keep LinkedIn safe, trusted, and professional. Content Policy Managers play a key role in scoping, prioritizing and executing various projects and initiatives, ranging from policy development and implementation, stakeholder training and awareness, and managing critical internal and external partnerships. In this role, you’ll work across a wide range of technical and non-technical projects that support LinkedIn’s trust principles and overall platform integrity.

Basic Qualifications:
The pay range for this role is $86,000 - $141,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.

Responsibilities:
- Research, build and communicate global policies that impact broad-reaching issues of safety and expression across LinkedIn’s products and advertisements.
- Critically analyze inputs from internal and external partners to establish long-term content and product policy stances, standards, and strategies.
- Autonomously manage multiple complex policy projects across all stages of the development and implementation lifecycle.
- Respond to escalations and use escalation trends to inform urgent policy guidance and communication needs.
- Craft and communicate effective data-driven stories and updates to senior leadership in order to influence decisions and outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with business and technical stakeholders to identify optimal solutions based on a variety of criteria (cost, level of effort, complexity, timing, etc.).
- Provide updates on the status and overall health of regional and global workstreams to stakeholders and management on a regular basis.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of work experience in policy writing, product risk management, policy operations, or digital trust & safety
- BA/BS degree in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
- A clear and thoughtful communicator, both in writing and in person, who can distill complex ideas and engage diverse audiences.
- Technology industry experience, with emphasis on experience in addressing complex systematic and emerging risks and issues.
- A background in training or instructional design is a strong plus, especially if you enjoy creating clarity and connection through education.
- Skilled at building relationships, credibility, and rapport across teams, and comfortable working collaboratively with both technical and non-technical partners.
- Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset, with a curiosity to dig into issues and uncover meaningful solutions.
- Comfortable navigating business and technical conversations, and able to translate between the two when needed.
- Ability to influence and negotiate prioritization of product changes.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple ongoing projects while staying detail oriented.
- Ability to adapt to changing business and technical conditions.
- Familiar with using metrics and data to inform decision-making, and open to learning more if not already fluent.
- Ability to develop working knowledge of technical aspects of systems, including configuration, settings, logging, and permissions.
