About the role

In this role, you will get to drive large-scale, cross-functional initiatives that shape the future of Zillow’s search and communications experiences. You will collaborate with leadership and teams to define strategies, facilitate planning, and oversee the execution of key projects that impact millions of users. Your work will be pivotal in delivering seamless online experiences and advancing Zillow’s mission to transform the real estate industry.

As a Principal Technical Program Manager, You Will Get To:

  • Lead and execute strategic, cross-functional technical programs from conception to delivery.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-disciplinary teams to define and deliver impactful products and services.

  • Translate product requirements into technical specifications, acting as a bridge between product, engineering, and design.

  • Identify and mitigate risks, and recommend system architecture and design approaches.

  • Drive process improvements and foster collaboration across teams for greater efficiency and alignment.

  • Develop and communicate strategic technical visions, driving innovation and supporting company goals.

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program success and business impact.

  • Communicate effectively with executive stakeholders to facilitate decision-making and resolve complex challenges.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $173,300.00 - $276,800.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • 8+ years of technical program management experience, including leading large-scale, cross-functional projects.

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience building software solutions with current industry-standard technologies.

  • Strong technical skills with the ability to translate requirements into actionable plans.

  • Proven ability to identify risks, recommend solutions, and drive consensus among diverse teams.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience working closely with Product Managers and Software Development Managers.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and deliver results on time.
