Job Description
This role will be based in Chicago or Omaha.

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.
The Instructional Designer creates high-impact, AI optimized, microlearning assets using various digital media formats for LinkedIn customers. These learning materials empower customers around the world with tips, tricks, techniques, and best practices they need to be more productive and successful using LinkedIn tools.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will lead efforts to determine learning objectives, establish clear timelines for deliverables, gather key requirements from partners and product teams, recommend the best format to suit the learner experience, and create learning assets that serve core customer needs. The assets you create will help millions adopt best practices and see tangible value.
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate critical thinking to solve complex problems within established guidelines, plus innovative techniques to shorten development cycles and meet tight deadlines. You must demonstrate excellent writing skills and be able to adhere to established development guidelines and templates while increasing the effectiveness of learning deliverables. This role also requires thriving in a matrixed environment, working cross-collaboratively with peers to achieved shared goals. Establishing rapport and mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders is a key to success. Demonstration of self-direction paired with transparent communication is a must.

Basic Qualifications:
The pay range for this role is $90,000-$146,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.

Responsibilities:
- Build micro-learning and modular learning materials that will fuel the customer enablement experience and unlock successful use of LinkedIn tools.
- Script, record, and edit engaging training videos to support product adoption and customer enablement.
- Partner and build meaningful relationships with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to uncover business and learning needs.
- Identify learning objectives tied to desired customer adoption and behavior outcomes.
- Design training assets and recommend the learning modality while balancing tight timelines, continuous product changes, and strengthened learning catalog performance.
- Provide graphic design support for assets and experiences published in the virtual learning center.
- Continuously incorporate peer, stakeholder, and customer feedback and recommend standards based on this feedback for future content builds
- Meet all deliverable deadlines.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in high volume training content creation, customer learning, or customer enablement content creation.
- 3+ years of experience working with rapid eLearning development tools (Articulate 360, Camtasia etc.), and web-based meeting tools (e.g., Zoom) to create instructionally sound content.
- Experience with multimedia design skills, including basic video editing, motion graphics, layout design, and asset creation using tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects), or equivalent tools.
- Experience in project management including execution, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.
- Experience working on a global or multi-cultural team.
- Experience working in Customer focused learning and education.
- Experience structuring lessons or courses to produce a behavioral outcome.
- Experience with multimedia, graphic design, or video production.
- Extended enterprise experience (customer-facing not internal L&D).
- Demonstration of a growth mindset with a passion for learning, feedback, and innovation.
- Proven critical thinker.
- Experience with visual design principles and how multimedia and design can support training design, development and delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- BA or equivalent work experience.
- Experience creating dynamic, impactful training content.
- Experience with data-driven decision making and prioritization.
- Contributor to process improvement.
- Can independently own driving complex training content bodies of work to successful completion.
- Ability to develop trusted advisor relationships with peers and key stakeholders.
