We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join the Strategic Insights team within Engineering, building and supporting data pipelines that drive analytics for both internal teams and Loopio’s customers. This role focuses on empowering customers with actionable insights to improve proposal quality, win rates, and team productivity while enhancing dashboard usability and integrating tailored recommendations. You'll play a key role in shaping Loopio’s data infrastructure, enabling data-driven decision-making, analysis, and feature development in a dynamic and evolving technology landscape.

You will partner closely with ML Engineers, Software Developers and Data Scientists, Product Managers, and other business stakeholders to help us take Loopio’s data value to the next level.

This role requires close collaboration with teams across Canada, the UK, and India. To accommodate the time zone differences, you will be expected to work from 11 am to 7:30 pm IST.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Scalable Data Platforms & ETL Pipelines: Design, build, and optimize data pipelines to support high-scale data ingestion, transformation, and storage. Develop efficient ETL workflows using Databricks, Redshift, and AWS cloud technologies.

  • Data Engineering for ML & Analytics: Develop and maintain a feature store to support predictive models, AI-driven insights, and data science applications. Enable seamless integration of structured (RDS, MySQL) and unstructured (clickstream, logs) data into the data lake / data warehouse / data mart layers.

  • Automation & Orchestration: Build robust automation tooling for data orchestration, testing, monitoring, and administration. Leverage workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Databricks Workflows) to streamline data operations.

  • Cloud & Big Data Infrastructure: Architect scalable data solutions leveraging AWS services (S3, Redshift, Lambda, RDS, DMS) and distributed computing frameworks (Spark, Presto). Optimize query performance and ensure reliability in high-volume environments.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and business stakeholders to create AI-powered insights, drive product improvements, and enable data-driven decision-making.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Data Engineering & Cloud Expertise: 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with hands-on experience in ETL, data warehousing, and cloud-based data platforms. Strong proficiency in AWS (S3, RDS, Redshift, Glue).

  • Advanced DB engines expertise & Data Processing: Deep understanding of database design, query optimization, and data modeling. Expertise in distributed data processing frameworks (Spark, Databricks, Presto).

  • Software Development & Orchestration: Strong Python and PySpark development skills. Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and data workflow automation (Airflow, Databricks Jobs).

  • Scalable Systems & Performance Tuning: Proven ability to build and optimize large-scale data infrastructure, ensuring low-latency access, efficient storage, and high reliability.

  • Leadership & Collaboration: Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work in fast-paced environments, and experience mentoring engineers or driving technical initiatives.

  • Our employees (or Loopers, as we call ourselves!) live and work in 🇨🇦 Canada (British Columbia and Ontario), 🇬🇧 London, and 🇮🇳 India (specifically in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Bengaluru).

  • Our India/UK hub employees work according to business hours stated in the job description above. This is intentionally designed to enable our global teams to have overlapping hours for collaboration.

  • You’ll collaborate with your teams virtually across the UK, India, and North America (we’re just a Zoom call and Slack message away!) with core sync hours and focus time for headsdown work 🙇🏾 during the workday
