Role Overview:

By embedding intelligence into everyday fabrics, we are reimagining how people monitor, manage, and improve their health. Through our Skiin™ platform, we are developing clinically meaningful, scalable solutions that bridge daily living and healthcare, with a focus on cardiometabolic health and long-term monitoring.
We are seeking a Biomedical Systems Engineer to join our multidisciplinary Systems Engineering team. This role is central to advancing Myant’s mission: designing, integrating, and validating biomedical systems that bring cutting-edge research into real-world, wearable products. The ideal candidate is technically strong, proactive, and thrives in collaborative environments that connect clinicians, researchers, engineers, and industry partners.
Responsibilities:
- Design & Development: Develop and test biomedical prototypes, algorithms, and system integrations for wearable health applications, with an emphasis on cardiac monitoring and related biosignals.
- Systems Engineering: Conduct modeling, simulation, and systems-level analysis to optimize product performance and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Clinical & Regulatory Alignment: Ensure compliance with relevant medical device standards (ISO 13485, IEC 60601, FDA/Health Canada, HIPAA) and support documentation for regulatory submissions.
- Data & Signal Processing: Lead data acquisition, signal processing, and analysis pipelines for feature validation, leveraging both embedded systems and cloud-based tools.
- Integration & Collaboration: Work closely with firmware, data science, textile, software, and mechanical engineering teams to deliver seamless system integration.
- Innovation & Technology Transfer: Support technology transfer from research to productization, including validation, verification, and clinical deployment.
- Knowledge Sharing: Produce clear technical documentation and present findings to internal and external stakeholders, including clinicians and partners.
- Continuous Learning: Stay current with advances in biomedical signal processing, wearable technology, and digital health methodologies.
Qualifications:
- PhD or MSc in Biomedical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering (or related field) OR equivalent relevant industry experience.
- 2+ years of experience in biomedical, medical device, or healthcare technology industries (exceptional new graduates with strong applied research and collaborations may be considered).
- Demonstrated expertise in biomedical instrumentation, wearable sensors, and physiological signal processing.
- Experience with embedded systems and programming in Python and C; additional experience with biomedical data visualization tools is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of biosignals such as ECG, EMG, EEG, PPG, and accelerometry; experience with long-term wearable data collection is preferred.
- Familiarity with systems engineering methodologies and medical device lifecycle management.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary, and regulated environment.
