The Role

We're looking for a Product Manager to help shape the future of our Lighting and Wellness product lines. Reporting to our Director of Product Management, you'll work closely with them to manage the roadmap for physical products that are defining the smart decor category. This role is about deeply understanding user needs, identifying opportunities, and driving product strategy from concept to launch.

As you grow in the role, you'll have the opportunity to own a product pillar, leading the vision and execution for a key part of our portfolio. You'll work at the intersection of hardware innovation and user experience, managing products that represent significant revenue for Nanoleaf while collaborating with engineering, design, operations, and go-to-market teams globally—including close cross-border collaboration with our hardware team in Shenzhen.

Interview Process

Our interview process for this role is designed to get to know you, your experience, and how you think:

#1. Phone Screen (15-30 mins): A brief conversation to learn more about your background and motivations.

#2. 1:1 Interview + Case Study (1.5 - 2 hours): A deep dive into your product thinking and problem-solving approach with the Dir, of Product. No take home, just a live working session.

#3. Panel Interview (1 - 1.5 hours): Meet cross-functional team members and discuss how you’d collaborate in the role. this may include a 1:1 with one of our founders.

What You'll Do

Manage Product Vision & Roadmap

  • Work with the Director of Product to define and manage the product roadmap for our Lighting and Wellness verticals
  • Identify market opportunities and translate them into compelling product concepts
  • Lead cross-functional discussions to align user needs, business objectives, and operational constraints into clear, actionable product decisions

Champion the User Experience

  • Be your own customer! Use our products every day to truly understand and champion the user experience
  • Synthesize feedback from beta testing, customer support, reviews, and direct user research
  • Translate user insights into clear product requirements and experience improvements

Drive Cross-Functional Execution

  • Lead sprint planning and participate in agile development processes
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers in Shenzhen, industrial designers, firmware teams, and manufacturing partners across time zones
  • Build alignment and momentum across R&D, sales, marketing, and operations, demonstrating ownership and independence in execution.

Solve Problems Independently

  • Proactively spot and address potential issues or areas for growth
  • Thrive in making sound decisions even when all information isn’t available
  • Know when to escalate for alignment or support, but remain fully accountable for the outcome

Bridge Physical and Digital

  • Develop a deep understanding of how our physical products connect and interact within our digital ecosystem.
  • Work with digital product managers to ensure seamless end-to-end experiences
  • Balance hardware constraints or limitations with user experience aspirations

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 3+ years of professional working experience (Internships or volunteer experience don’t count, but will be considered)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Proven track record of shipping successful products that users love
  • Experience with agile methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence
  • Proven ability to work with stakeholders across departments—you know how to influence without authority
  • Natural curiosity and tech-savviness—you love understanding how things work
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a bias toward action
  • A proven track record of a user-first mindset with the ability to balance empathy with business pragmatism
  • Clear communicator who can articulate complex ideas to diverse audiences
  • Comfortable working across time zones and collaborating with international teams

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with wellness or health-focused products
  • Familiarity with IP networking technologies - WiFi, BLE and Thread
  • Basic skills with IoT devices or an understanding of how they work
  • Understanding of retail and e-commerce go-to-market strategies
  • You're the type of person who reads product reviews for fun
  • Mandarin language skills
  • You've navigated the challenges of physical product development (long lead times, tooling costs, inventory risk)
  • Hands on programming skills
