Production Manager
New School Foods
At New School Foods, our mission is to accelerate the transition to a sustainable food system. Using our proprietary and purpose-built production technologies, we are creating the next generation of meat and seafood alternatives, which are designed to appeal to the average consumer. Our first commercial product is a delicious plant-based salmon filet that looks, cooks, tastes and flakes like the real thing. It’s full of Omega 3’ and protein, all with a lower carbon footprint, zero mercury, and made without harming the ocean.
THE ROLE
Our Production Manager will be our champion for continuous improvement. They will work cross functionally to level up manufacturing practices and goals; ensuring we hit our targets week over week. This role is an integral part in levelling up how we operate and laying the groundwork for scaling our operations.
This is a role for someone who is obsessed with process improvements and finding new ways to be more efficient. They enjoy complex problem solving and working with teams to ensure decisions are data-backed.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Relentlessly level-up our manufacturing processes and how we work.
- Ensure production output is consistent and of the highest quality every week.
- Lead and coach a team of production leads and supervisors.
- Support our QA team to ensure food safety standards are adhered to.
- Ensure all decisions and new projects are data-backed.
- Support Sales, R&D, Engineering and QA departments with ongoing initiatives that support company-wide objectives.
- Ensure team safety is at the forefront at all times.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 7+ years experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment, food and CPG industries preferred
- 5+ years experience leading teams in complex manufacturing environments
- Proven rack record of levelling up manufacturing environments
- An obsession with continuous improvement and finding efficiencies
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Degree in Science, Engineering, or Business are considered an asset
- Physically able to lift 10 kg (20 lbs)
