Novarc Technologies is looking for an enthusiastic and meticulous Buyer to join our Procurement team, supporting the production of cutting-edge robotics on a full-time, one-year contract.

Summary: In this role, you'll be responsible for processing and tracking purchase orders (POs) using NetSuite, managing the purchasing of materials and equipment for R&D, client projects, and production, and expediting critical orders to maintain schedules. The ideal candidate is a highly organized individual with a foundational understanding of procurement, eager to develop their skills in sourcing technical components within a manufacturing environment.

  • Hybrid work options may be available.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process and track purchase orders (PO) accurately and efficiently using the company's ERP/purchasing system, NetSuite.

  • Process purchasing of equipment and materials for R&D, client projects and production including shop supplies and consumables.

  • Monitor and expedite orders for critical production materials to ensure timely delivery and maintain strict manufacturing schedules.

  • Liaise with the financial department to ensure invoices are filed accurately and payments are made in a timely manner.

  • Update and maintain critical procurement data, including price lists, material master data, and lead times in the ERP system.

  • Contact suppliers/couriers and resolve problems such as, but not limited to: incorrect/damaged shipments, delayed shipments, backorders, initiate RMA’s (return merchandise authorization) and NCR’s (Non-Conformance Reports) or replacement requests, and follow up with suppliers in a timely manner.

  • Contribute to inventory planning and control to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize stockouts or overstocking.

  • Perform inventory transfer and adjustments as needed.

  • Assist in managing the KANBAN system with external vendors.

  • Assist in periodic inventory counts, audits and reconciliation of parts.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field; OR equivalent practical experience.

  • Minimum 1 year of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment or similar field.

  • Proficiency in Google Suite or Microsoft Office, with at least 1 year of working experience.

  • Prior experience utilizing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.) for Purchase Order (PO) processing, inventory management, and reporting.

  • Proven basic understanding of procurement principles and supply chain processes.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have:

  • Previous purchasing experience within a Manufacturing or Engineering environment (e.g., automotive, aerospace, machinery, or electronics).

  • Previous purchasing experience in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with technical component sourcing and the ability to read basic technical specifications/drawings.
