Department: The Canadian Cancer Clinical Trials Network (3CTN)

Reports To: Portfolio and Informatics Manager

Salary: $20/hour, plus a defined benefit pension plan (HOOPP)

Hours: 35 hours/week

Job Type: Hybrid

Status: Full-time, Temporary for four (4) months

Position Summary

The Canadian Cancer Clinical Trials Network (3CTN) is seeking a student to support the Portfolio & Informatics team and help develop novel reports and analyze data that will be used to identify Canadian clinical trial opportunities.

3CTN is a pan-Canadian initiative to improve the efficiency and quality of academic clinical trials in Canada. Hosted by OICR, the 3CTN Coordinating Centre supports a network of cancer centres across Canada.

This position is temporary, full-time for four (4) months. This role is partially funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program of the Government of Canada. Applicants must be eligible for funding through this program.

Position Responsibilities

  • Complete environmental scans, literature reviews and/or consult clinical research teams as needed to guide the completion of project activities
  • Review cancer clinical trials information, enter data into the 3CTN Clinical Trials Management System database, and support the development of reports for Network members and other stakeholders
  • Ensure reports’ development considers agile, efficient and sustainable processes required for content management and data integrity
  • Develop presentation materials and participate in knowledge exchange activities with 3CTN members and external stakeholders
  • Assist with planning and coordination of 3CTN meetings, educational webinars, workshops
  • Perform other duties consistent with the job classification, as required


Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree preferably in a science or health related discipline
  • Strong interest in oncology clinical research
  • Strong written and oral communications and time management skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and a broad range of 3CTN stakeholders, including clinical research professionals, trial sponsors and patient advocacy groups
  • Familiarity with project management methodology (e.g., training or certificate)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, with some knowledge of MS Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP
  • Familiarity with using Microsoft Power BI, or similar data informatics reporting tool
