Senior Building Intelligence Engineer (Installation) - DMV
Parity
ABOUT PARITY:
Buildings in our beautiful cities, where we live and work, are producing 40% of the CO2 going into our atmosphere and contributing to climate change. We need to HEAT, VENTILATE, and AIR CONDITION our buildings 24/7. Most of the energy consumed in a building is for our comfort, but 50% of it is wasted! This is because buildings have little to no technology to control this.
Parity is a Remote HVAC Optimization as a Service company. We remotely control and optimize HVAC systems 24/7/365 to deliver automatic energy savings and revenue to multifamily residential buildings and hotels. Using advanced algorithms, Parity can predict the amount of energy needed ahead of time to operate a building to meet its occupants' demands and adapt the building's systems and machinery in real time. We save our customers:
- Time - we automate setpoint adjustments and demand response protocols. Our Pi (Parity Insights) dashboard provides early alerting services when things go down.
- Money - Parity contractually guarantees the savings that we expect to deliver to our multifamily customers. We also unlock additional revenue through the automation of grid services.
- CO2 Emissions - we reduce a building’s emissions by optimizing its HVAC systems and reducing energy waste.
THE ROLE:
We are looking for a Senior Building Intelligence Engineer based in the DC metro area to join our team and help us to ensure that all client buildings are adapted to work successfully with the Parity platform.
Leveraging your background in HVAC controls and energy engineering, you will support the sales engineering process, provide onsite installation commissioning and ongoing technical support for our existing and prospective customers. We are looking for someone hungry, eager to learn, and passionate about the energy and Cleantech space!

- Coordinate procurement of controls hardware and materials in collaboration with operations and finance
- Manage subcontractors in the field to ensure timely completion of Parity’s integration projects.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, tracking milestones and identifying critical path risks proactively.
- Identify and manage scope changes, preparing and negotiating change orders with subcontractors and communicating impacts to internal stakeholders.
- Lead DDC panel startup and point-to-point commissioning — verifying field wiring, confirming I/O points, and validating controller communication prior to system-level integration with Parity's platform
- Coordinate closely with integration and deployment team to ensure algorithm deployment and data connections
- Serve as the technical lead during final system commissioning and sign-off—ensuring client expectations, program requirements, and Parity’s quality standards are met.
- Prepare and finalize all required close-out materials for each project to ensure a complete and accurate turnover to the Service Delivery team.
- Coordinate with energy engineering team as needed to support estimating, incentive procurement and other tasks
- Contribute to the development of internal process and systems development/improvement
- Stay current with best practices in HVAC controls, building automation, and energy efficiency to support continuous improvement in technical execution.
- Act as a regional technical resource for live buildings—supporting Parity’s service delivery team with ongoing troubleshooting, optimization, and customer engagement
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5-10 years’ experience in controls/building automation, MEP engineering, including at least 3+ years managing building automation/controls projects for commercial real estate clients.
- Proven experience in client-facing roles, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to read and interpret Control Schematics and Sequences of Operations.
- Experience with DDC-based control systems and building automation protocols (BACnet, Modbus)
