This position will focus on external reporting and technical accounting matters for the Company and is a critical team player in the overall success of the finance and accounting team. The qualified candidate will interact with finance/accounting and cross-functional teams.

What You'll Do:

  • Assists with the preparation of external financial statements and footnote disclosures in accordance with SEC and US GAAP requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of reporting
  • Help coordinate compiling of information contained within SEC filings from cross-functional teams
  • Technical accounting resource, working closely with corporate finance and operational teams to provide US GAAP accounting and reporting guidance
  • Assists with contract review prior to execution and provides accounting research and guidance in support of the Company’s business transactions
  • Provides financial information in support of external questions
  • Assists in the review of financial reporting packages
  • Assists with the development, maintenance and communication of accounting policies and procedures
  • Drafts and reviews accounting memorandums to support the Company’s position on complex technical accounting matters and presents the suggested treatment to management and external auditors
  • Draft and review new and amended accounting policies and procedures
  • Assists with journal entry preparation for non-routine transactions
  • Monitors emerging accounting pronouncements, assists in the evaluation of the impacts to Company and takes ownership of implementation procedures, as required
  • Assists in training finance and accounting team members in relation to new accounting standards, policies and procedures
  • Coordinates with external auditors on audit requests and other third-party service providers, as needed
  • Ensures all work complies with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Streamlines and improves existing processes and internal controls
  • Assists with other related projects and initiatives on an ad hoc basis

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in accounting and CPA
  • Big 4 accounting firm and public company experience
  • 6+ years of related work experience
  • Expert knowledge of US GAAP accounting and SEC reporting requirements
  • Experience drafting white paper accounting memos and documenting accounting policies and procedures
  • Ability to research, interpret and apply accounting standards
  • Experience working with SEC clients in public accounting and/or at an SEC registered company
  • Proficiency in Google suite or Microsoft Office suite
  • SAP and Hyperion reporting experience is a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships across the organization to influence cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational, leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, independent, and resourceful while demonstrating the highest level of integrity
  • Attention to detail and strong work ethic
  • Strong business partner to others in the organization
  • Ability to gain the confidence and respect of management and staff through attributes such as professionalism and positive attitude
  • Able to interpret and translate complex technical matters into concise communication to management
  • Challenges existing processes and always looks to improve and find efficiencies
