Overview

As an Engineer I, in the Classroom New Solutions R&D team at PowerSchool, you’ll play a crucial role in developing software solutions that enhance the educational experience for K-12 students, teachers, and administrators. Under the general direction of Senior Manager, Software Engineering, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, leveraging your technical skills to create innovative solutions that empower educators and improve learning outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Software Development: Utilize your expertise in React, JavaScript, TypeScript to build responsive and user-friendly web applications for K-12 classrooms.
  • API Development: Apply your knowledge of Node.js, AWS Services to create robust APIs that integrate seamlessly with educational platforms.
  • AWS Cloud: Leverage your experience with AWS services to deploy and manage scalable applications that support K-12 education.
  • Agile/Scrum Process: Participate in an Agile development environment, contributing to sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshooting: Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders, and clients to ensure successful, on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in React, JavaScript, REST API development, AWS Cloud and any Git based tools.
  • Knowledge of MFE and Micro-services development is a strong positive.
  • Should be well versed with DevSecOps practice with good knowledge on Observability, Security.
  • Nice-to-have, experience working with Lambda, DynamoDB and related serverless aws services to build scalable micro-services.
  • Strong understanding of software design principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaborative teamwork.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly.
  • Problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills
