We're looking for a Development Manager to join Prodigy Education, where you'll lead high-performing teams dedicated to building experiences that advance our mission to help every child love learning. In this role, you'll combine deep technical expertise with strategic thinking to empower engineers, drive technical excellence, and ensure our technology delights our users. You'll work closely with cross-functional leaders from product, design, and data teams to build products that make a meaningful impact on children's education.
Your Impact
Lead and mentor multiple engineering teams, fostering a culture of accountability, performance and continuous improvement
Establish and enforce high standards for code quality, testing and documentation
Drive operational excellence through effective use of engineering metrics and continuous improvement practises
Partner with Product Owners, Producers and Tech leads to provide guidance and insights on technical delivery plan ensuring engineering leverage and risk mitigation
Support overall engineering strategy by defining and driving initiatives that improve the overall department
Work closely with recruiting staff and product owners to expand the team, including interviewing candidates and onboarding new employees

About You
You have strong technical fundamentals and a deep understanding of engineering practices, quality standards, and scalable systems
You bring experience working across multiple teams, helping developers grow through mentorship, coaching, and structured feedback
You’re passionate about building high-performing teams and engineering cultures rooted in learning, transparency, and continuous improvement
You’re energized by collaboration—working across disciplines to guide planning, support delivery, and remove roadblocks
You’re comfortable operating in ambiguous or complex situations and can turn data and trends into clear, actionable steps
You’ve contributed to or led hiring and performance processes and are confident in representing the quality bar of a craft
You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are excited by the opportunity to shape how our development teams scale
Bonus Points
Experience with games or live-operated digital products
Strong working knowledge of engineering metrics and delivery KPIs
Experience scaling teams in a startup or growth-stage environment
Familiarity with technical leveling frameworks and calibration processes
Previous leadership experience in cross-functional teams
