As a Senior Data Scientist on our data team, you'll leverage your analytical expertise, deep understanding of user behaviour, and strong experimental design capabilities to drive strategic decision-making and optimize product engagement. You'll collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, and other data professionals to uncover actionable insights, identify impactful opportunities, and improve the user experience of our platform.
This role uniquely positions you to shape Prodigy’s educational tools and directly influence how millions of teachers and students interact with our product. Your insights and analysis will guide the development and iteration of features, ensuring a user-centered approach to product enhancements.
Your Impact
Drive high-impact, strategic product analytics projects aligned with Prodigy's organizational objectives and OKRs, significantly influencing product decisions and user experience.
Collaborate effectively with product stakeholders to consistently define complex problems, identify data-driven opportunities, and implement solutions that deliver meaningful, long-term impact.
Design, execute, and evaluate statistically rigorous experiments to measure the effectiveness of new features and updates, ensuring rapid, high-quality insights to guide product iteration.
Break down complex and ambiguous projects into clearly defined tasks and deliverables, working collaboratively with cross-functional data team members to ensure timely and impactful execution.
Enhance data accessibility and transparency by developing and maintaining dashboards and visualizations tracking key user behavior KPIs, enabling teams to quickly identify trends, opportunities, and actionable insights.
Champion data quality and best practices, closely collaborating with Data Engineering and cross-functional teams to maintain reliable, accurate data assets that empower effective decision-making.
Provide clear, concise communication of analytical findings to diverse stakeholders, ensuring insights are accessible, actionable, and aligned with strategic product objectives.
Serve as a key advisor to product teams and stakeholders, fostering data-informed decision-making aligned with Prodigy’s strategic goals and long-term vision.
Foster a collaborative environment by sharing knowledge and elevating the team's analytical expertise through mentorship, resource sharing, and active participation in continuous learning.
Actively contribute feedback and propose enhancements to data tooling, workflows, and processes, improving overall team efficiency and effectiveness.
About You
4+ years of experience in data science, product analytics, and experimentation, demonstrating measurable impact through statistical methods (e.g., hypothesis testing, regression analysis, causal inference).
Strong communicator, adept at translating complex analytical insights into clear, actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proven ability to drive key product roadmap decisions using user-centric analytics, experimentation, and incremental impact analysis.
Passionate about continuous learning, regularly exploring and applying advanced analytical methods, experimental frameworks, and innovative data technologies to solve product-focused problems.
Proficient in SQL and Python/R for data extraction, analysis, modeling, and automation.
Experienced in building comprehensive dashboards and visualizations using Databricks, Tableau, Looker, or Sigma, with proficiency in creating data assets using DBT.
Experience deploying production-level ML models impacting user experience.
