We are seeking a Pre-Production QC Lead to lead and maintain our construction quality control program and standards. This position is based at our Calgary facility and involves conducting inspections of framing assemblies + installations to ensure compliance with drawings and codes, identifying + tracking any non conformances, maintaining QC documentation, inspection reports and sign offs of projects as well as collaborating with different teams to resolve any quality issues promptly.
What you'll do:
- Provide framing requirements to Software Team to develop Revit Addin to automate the Framing process
- Provide details on building envelop considerations to the preproduction and construction team
- Communicate with Builder’s design and construction team to revise the construction details to improve the overall quality of the product and make it more prefab friendly
- Develop a deep understanding of prefab construction process for single family to multi storey wood framed structure
- Contribute to the project intake process and reviewing intake construction documents
- Review the digital models and shop drawings, work orders and shipping lists.
- Collect and analyze preproduction and installation KPIs
- Training and mentoring of junior staff
- Other duties as assigned
What you'll need to succeed:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- 10+ years experience in residential framing.
- Journeyman Carpenter certification is a strong asset.
- Strong proficiency in Canadian building codes.
- Competency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with AutoCAD and REVIT software is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
- Familiarity with both imperial and metric measurement systems.
- Adaptability to changing work environments.
- Physical capability to lift and handle objects weighing up to 80 lbs.
