We’re looking for a Senior Robotics and Control Engineer to join our team and contribute to developing cutting-edge solutions for our core robotic manufacturing technologies. This role is based at our facility in Calgary, AB.

What you'll do:

    • Leading design, development, evaluation and improvement of robotic manufacturing systems and processes by working closely with a diverse technical team of software developers and robotic engineers

    • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair robotic hardware, sensors, drivers and software

    • Maintain and promote a safe and professional environment with a high level of safety awareness and compliance

    • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the junior members of the team

What you'll need to succeed:

    • Bachelor/College degree in Robotics, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Master's degree preferred.

    • 8+ years' experience in manufacturing environments with automation systems programming and control, including industrial robots and PLCs

    • Strong knowledge and experience in industrial robot programming, PLC/HMI, control panel, automation and electrical standards and best practices with proven history of commissioning manufacturing equipment

    • PLC and HMI programming experience (Beckhoff experience will be a plus)

    • Experience in designing fieldbus network architectures (EtherCAT experience will be a plus)

    • Experience in Safety Programming

    • Experience with perception systems such as force torque sensors, range finders and vision systems.

    • Willingness to participate in a variety of technical areas in both software and hardware as needed to solve complex problems and achieve business impact

    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and organization skills

    • Ability to work at our Calgary facility and travel up to 25% to other facilities as needed

    • (Preferred) Hands-on experience applying AI tools to automation and controls engineering such as code generation, troubleshooting, or optimizing control logic.

    • (Preferred) Experience in integrating Kuka robots is a great asset

    • (Preferred) Experience with electrical system design implementation in compliance with electrical standards

    • (Preferred) Programming experience in Python, SQL or similar language
