Job Description

What you’ll do

  • Participate in and help facilitate discovery and requirements workshops to capture underwriting, product, rating, and policy lifecycle needs across new business, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and rewrites.

  • Translate business needs into well-structured user stories, functional specifications, and configuration inputs for PolicyCenter, focusing on product model, coverages, rating worksheets, workflows, underwriting rules, and job lifecycles under guidance from senior team members.

  • Support process and gap analysis across quoting, issuance, endorsements, cancellations, and renewals, contributing recommendations that align with Professional Services’ goals to reduce implementation effort and time.

  • Work with solution architects and integration teams to document and validate integrations between PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, and external systems (such as rating engines, bureaus, and third-party data providers), ensuring requirements are clear and testable.

  • Partner with underwriters, actuaries, product owners, developers, and QA to confirm that configurations align with filed products, pricing strategies, regulatory expectations, and Guidewire’s target solution patterns.

  • Support Agile delivery through backlog refinement, writing and updating user stories and acceptance criteria, maintaining requirement traceability, and assisting during functional, integration, and user acceptance testing.

  • Use project data, retrospectives, and customer feedback to suggest improvements to configuration approaches and contribute to reusable, AI-enabled patterns and templates that can be applied across customers and regions.

  • At Guidewire, we foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and responsible use of AI—empowering our teams to continuously leverage emerging technologies and data-driven insights to enhance productivity and outcomes.

What you’ll bring

Required

  • Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your role, using data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in the P&C insurance domain, covering key policy lifecycle processes such as new business, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and rewrites.

  • Experience working on at least one Guidewire PolicyCenter implementation or major enhancement, or another policy administration system, with exposure to product model, rating, or job lifecycle configuration.

  • Solid understanding of P&C insurance concepts such as coverages, limits, deductibles, underwriting rules, and rating structures (for example, base rates, modifiers, tiers, surcharges, and discounts).

  • Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum teams, writing user stories and acceptance criteria, and collaborating closely with developers and QA.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex scenarios into clear requirements and practical solution options.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work with both business and technical stakeholders in distributed teams.

  • Ability to manage your work across multiple tasks or mini-workstreams while maintaining a strong focus on customer outcomes and implementation quality.

Preferred

  • Experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter as a Business Analyst; Guidewire Certification – Specialist: PolicyCenter Business Analyst and/or InsuranceSuite Integrations is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Guidewire Cloud Platform and modern integration patterns such as REST APIs, Cloud API, Integration Gateway, and App Events.

  • Exposure to AI-enabled tools in software delivery (for example, requirement analysis, documentation support, test design, or configuration quality checks).

  • Experience in Professional Services, a system integrator, or a consulting environment, with awareness of project timelines, scope, and value realization.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Your Impact

We believe in clarity and setting you up for success. In your first months, you’ll onboard to Guidewire’s Professional Services methodology, FY26 priorities, and PolicyCenter capabilities while pairing with senior Business Analysts and consultants on an active cloud project. You will start by owning defined tasks and focused functional areas—such as parts of a product line, rating component, or specific policy transaction—building trusted relationships with customer product owners, underwriters, and technical teams and using AI-enabled tools to improve analysis quality and documentation. Within your first 6 months, you will independently run smaller requirements sessions, own end-to-end user stories through design and testing, and play a visible role in helping your project team reduce rework, shorten time-to-value, and support Guidewire’s broader mission to transform how P&C insurers operate through digital, core, analytics, AI, and the cloud.
