Job Description
What you’ll do
Architect and own scalable, maintainable UI and API test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright) for PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, and related digital components, aligned with Guidewire Cloud and modern browser-based delivery practices.
Design and implement automation strategies and GTUI-based regression suites that significantly reduce manual testing effort and regression cycle time.
Partner with Professional Services engagement leaders, developers, and customer/SI QA teams to define automation scope, coverage, quality gates, and non-functional testing strategies across Guidewire- and SI-led programs.
Embed robust, CI/CD-friendly automated suites into implementation methodologies so they become reusable accelerators and repeatable offerings across insurers, regions, and delivery models, supporting PS priorities to industrialize AI-powered, repeatable services.
Coach and mentor Professional Services engineers and partners on automation engineering best practices, coding standards, test data strategy, GTUI usage, and maintainable test design patterns to uplift quality across the portfolio.
Collaborate closely with Product Development & Operations and other internal teams to align automation approaches with platform capabilities, GenAI “lifts,” and Guidewire Cloud testing standards, ensuring consistent quality and contributing to Guidewire’s mission to transform the way the world’s P&C insurers do business.
At Guidewire, we foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and responsible use of AI—empowering our teams to continuously leverage emerging technologies and data-driven insights to enhance productivity and outcomes.
What you’ll bring
Required
Practical experience with GTUI (Guidewire Test User Interface), including building or using regression suites for Guidewire UI flows (e.g., PolicyCenter renewals, ClaimCenter FNOL), stable object identification, and end-to-end test data management.
Hands-on experience with Guidewire products (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, Digital, or Guidewire Cloud) as a QA engineer, developer, or architect.
Extensive experience designing and implementing UI and API automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium and Playwright in complex enterprise, SaaS, or cloud environments.
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language commonly used for test automation (such as Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python), with strong understanding of object-oriented design, reusable components, and clean code principles.
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (for example, Git-based workflows, build servers, containerized execution) and working within agile or iterative delivery models.
Background in architecting automation for large, configurable applications or platforms, balancing reusability, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
Experience working in cloud or distributed environments and understanding how to design resilient tests for highly configurable, multi-tenant systems.
Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.
Preferred
Prior Professional Services, consulting, or customer-facing project experience on large, multi-vendor implementation programs where you shaped testing strategy.
Exposure to AI-powered testing tools, model-based testing, or intelligent test analytics platforms.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Your Impact
We believe in clarity and setting you up for success. In your first months, you’ll immerse yourself in Guidewire’s platform, Professional Services delivery methodology, and the FY26 PS VPMOM priorities to revolutionize services execution with AI and automation—cutting implementation effort, shortening timelines, and industrializing repeatable, AI-powered offerings.
You’ll assess automation assets on high-impact Guidewire Cloud programs, define a unifying automation strategy, and evolve Selenium/Playwright-based and GTUI suites into reusable accelerators that can be rolled out across customers and regions. Within six months, you’ll be leading automation strategy for flagship implementations, demonstrating measurable reductions in manual testing effort and regression cycle time, improving release quality, and helping Professional Services hit its revenue, margin, and AI-adoption targets while enabling insurers to adopt Guidewire Cloud with confidence and advancing Guidewire’s wider mission to transform global P&C insurance through secure, AI-enabled, cloud-delivered software.
