Job Description
What you’ll do
Define and own the technical architecture, design standards, and implementation roadmap for Guidewire PolicyCenter across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid deployments, aligning with customer enterprise architectures and Guidewire best practices.
Lead end-to-end PolicyCenter configuration and customization, including Gosu development, PCF/UI design, data model extensions, underwriting rules, workflows, and plugins, ensuring solutions are robust, maintainable, and aligned to business needs.
Architect and oversee complex integrations between PolicyCenter and enterprise systems (billing, CRM, data warehouses, external partners, document management, and third-party services) using APIs, web services, and messaging patterns.
Provide day-to-day technical leadership for cross-functional delivery teams, performing architecture and code reviews, mentoring senior developers and integrators, and driving engineering excellence and high test coverage (including GUnit).
Collaborate closely with business analysts and customer stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable architectures and non-functional designs covering performance, availability, security, and disaster recovery.
Champion Professional Services priorities by leveraging AI and automation to reduce implementation effort and time, support cloud migration and adoption, and help industrialize repeatable, high-quality delivery patterns across projects.
Contribute to organizational assets such as accelerators, reference architectures, and technical white papers, and lead knowledge-sharing to uplift Guidewire and partner teams globally.
At Guidewire, we foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and responsible use of AI—empowering our teams to continuously leverage emerging technologies and data-driven insights to enhance productivity and outcomes.

Proven track record architecting and delivering complex integrations using RESTful APIs, web services, messaging, and related technologies (e.g., Apache Camel, Bitbucket, IntelliJ).
Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles, performance optimization, security best practices, and non-functional requirements design for mission-critical systems.
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences and to work in Agile/Scrum environments.
Flexibility to collaborate across time zones and shifts when needed to support customers and global teams.

Background leading architecture on multiple PolicyCenter cloud or upgrade programs, especially those leveraging AI-enabled tools or automation to reduce implementation effort.
Familiarity with other Guidewire products (ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, Analytics, or Data Platform) and with modern microservices or event-driven architectures.

Your Impact
We believe in clarity and setting you up for success. In your first six months, you will take architectural ownership of one or more complex PolicyCenter implementations, aligning solution designs with customer business objectives while embedding Professional Services’ priorities around AI-enabled, faster, and more predictable delivery.
You will define technical roadmaps, guide teams through critical design and integration decisions, and put in place patterns and assets that measurably reduce implementation effort and time for future projects. As your influence grows, you will help customers fully leverage Guidewire’s cloud and AI platform, directly supporting our wider mission to transform how the world’s P&C insurers do business and advancing Guidewire’s ambition to deliver secure, scalable, and innovative solutions globally.
