Job Description

What you’ll do

  • Architect and own scalable, maintainable test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright) for Guidewire PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, and related digital components, aligned with cloud and browser‑based delivery best practices.

  • Design and implement automation strategies that significantly reduce manual testing effort and cycle time for Professional Services projects, directly supporting the goal to cut implementation effort by 50% and time by 30%.

  • Partner with Professional Services engagement leaders, developers, and customer QA teams to define test automation scope, coverage, quality gates, and non‑functional testing strategy for Guidewire‑ and SI‑led programs.

  • Embed robust, CI/CD‑friendly automated test suites into our implementation methodologies so they become reusable accelerators and repeatable offerings across customers and regions.

  • Introduce and scale AI‑assisted quality practices (for example, AI‑generated test cases, intelligent regression selection, analytics‑driven defect prevention) in line with Guidewire’s AI‑powered Professional Services strategy.

  • Coach and mentor Professional Services engineers and partners on automation engineering best practices, coding standards, test data strategy, and maintainable test design patterns to uplift quality across the portfolio.

  • Collaborate closely with Product Development & Operations (PDO) and other internal teams to align automation approaches with platform capabilities, GenAI “lifts,” and Guidewire Cloud testing standards, ensuring consistent quality from product to implementation.

  • At Guidewire, we foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and responsible use of AI—empowering our teams to continuously leverage emerging technologies and data-driven insights to enhance productivity and outcomes.

What you’ll bring

Required

Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.

  • Extensive experience designing and implementing UI and API test automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium and Playwright in complex enterprise, SaaS, or cloud environments.

  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language commonly used for test automation (such as Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python), with strong understanding of object‑oriented design, reusable components, and clean code principles.

  • Hands‑on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (for example, Git‑based workflows, build servers, containerized execution) and working within agile or iterative delivery models.

  • Background in architecting automation for large, configurable applications or platforms, with the ability to balance reusability, performance, scalability, and maintainability.

  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with experience partnering with consulting teams, customers, and external system integrators to drive adoption of automation standards and quality engineering practices.

  • Track record of using metrics (coverage, defect trends, execution time, reliability, flakiness rates) to guide quality decisions and to continuously optimize automation suites and test strategies.

  • Experience working in cloud or distributed environments and understanding of how to design resilient tests for highly configurable, multi‑tenant systems.

Preferred

  • Experience with Guidewire products (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, Digital, or Guidewire Cloud) as a QA engineer, developer, or architect.

  • Prior Professional Services, consulting, or customer‑facing project experience, including work on large, multi‑vendor implementation programs where you influenced testing strategy.

  • Exposure to AI‑powered testing tools, model‑based testing, or intelligent test analytics platforms.

  • Familiarity with performance, reliability, and non‑functional testing concepts and tools.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Your Impact

We believe in clarity and setting you up for success. In your first months, you’ll dive into Guidewire’s platform, Professional Services delivery methodology, and our FY26 ambition to revolutionize services execution with AI and automation.

You’ll assess existing automation assets on high‑impact programs, then design or enhance frameworks using Selenium and Playwright that can be rolled out across multiple implementations. Within six months, you’ll be leading automation strategy for flagship Guidewire Cloud projects, demonstrating measurable reductions in manual testing effort and regression cycle time, and contributing to higher‑quality, faster go‑lives for insurers.

Your work will enable customers to adopt Guidewire Cloud with confidence, help Professional Services and partners deliver reliably at scale, and support Guidewire’s broader mission to transform how the world’s P&C insurers do business through secure, AI‑enabled, cloud‑delivered software.
