Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

  • Assist with deal execution and M&A strategy in a hands-on manner - develop our M&A strategy and playbook, lead diligence & negotiation of transactions as well as post-merger integration activities

  • Develop a deep understanding of companies and trends in the Insurtech space through research and analysis, synthesize findings and recommendations, and share regular updates with the leadership team

  • Develop and maintain a network of industry contacts, VCs, and investment bankers to identify industry trends and proactively build pipeline

  • Lead a cross-functional team involving Product, GTM, Finance, Legal, People, IT, and outside counsel during live deals to ensure timely closing

  • Lead advanced financial modeling and valuation for software transactions.

  • Partner with VP/Director on strategy and negotiation prep.

  • Drive day-to-day due diligence activities

  • Define integration plans and assist with post-close execution

You will be a great addition to the team if you have:

  • 4–6 years in investment banking with corporate development experience in scaled software/SaaS strongly preferred.

  • Strong end-to-end M&A execution experience and getting deals done.

  • Exceptional modeling, valuation, and communication skills.

  • Comfortable networking externally and preparing Board-level materials.

  • Prior experience leading all aspects of an acquisition, multiple deals a plus

  • Strong skills in strategic and quantitative analysis, project management, coupled with strong communication and presentation skills

  • Deeply curious, master researcher, passionate about technology and SaaS

  • Proven ability and willingness to learn and understand emerging trends in the Insurtech landscape

  • Use AI/data tools to improve process efficiency.

  • Property & Casualty insurance understanding will be prioritized.

  • Bachelor’s required; MBA preferred.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000 - $234,000 . Your base pay will depend on your experience, skills, education, training, and location among other factors. All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a company sponsored retirement plan. In addition, some roles may be eligible for the annual company bonus plan, commissions, and/or long term incentive awards which are contingent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, company and employee performance.
